Let's just jump into the fray and put forward our mission for this Saturday's festivities.  Pull up a seat and listen to Afronerd Radio's Grindhouse double feature show, starting with The Comic Shoppe at 6pm and Afronerd Radio batting clean up at 7pm.  The topics to be anaylzed during The Comic Shoppe (with your hosts, Capt. Kirk, Dburt and Daryll B.) are: our thoughts on the last week's premiere back to back episodes of Fox TV's Almost Human; Sony execs tease regarding an expanded Spiderman universe on film; Xbox-One and PS4 are upon us and the question remains-which video game console is better?  And has the video gaming phenomenon reached obsolescence?; our listenership may have some familiarity with Steampunk but are they knowledgeable about Steamfunk?; The Hunger Games sequel is released and may encroach on Iron Man 3's territory in early box office receipts and lastly, a ComicsAlliance.com piece compares the "house styles" of Marvel and DC Comics in the current publishing era.  Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.

As alluded to previously, Afronerd Radio airs after The Shoppe at 7pm.  Join Dburt and Capt. Kirk as they discuss the following issues:  picking up a topic left on The Mid Week in Review "table,"  is the Knockout Game a matter of isolated incidents or a real deadly trend among Black youth?;  the UK Telegraph reports that three woman were enslaved in South London for 30 years......again, this is in the 21st century; America reflects on the 50th anniversary of JFK's assassination and lastly, we discuss what psychologist, Angela Lee Duckworth said was more important than IQ at a recent TED (Technology, Entertainment and design) conference.  See you all starting at 6pm!
