Natural resource conflicts in Africa

Natural resources are believed to be at the center of most conflicts in Africa. These resources are come in many forms such as crude oil, diamonds, coltan, etc. Millions of lives have been lost in these senseless conflicts and the questions remain: How long should the rest of Africa ignore these conflicts and pretend to be unperturbed?
