Douglas Wilder had it right when he said, the president must "make some hard changes of his own" by replacing inexperienced members of his team with "others more capable of helping him govern." Because of the Obama team, Virginia is now in control of Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell, who has proposed deep, unprecedented cuts to public schools, the state government work force and health and safety net programs in a $2.1 billion bid to balance a critically troubled state budget on the backs of the poor.
