Why are blacks moving out of big cities? Why are Blacks leaving cities in greater numbers than whites. For the first time in the decade of the 21st century having drawn to a close, many cities are on the verge of a major demographic development. White flight is not the leading cause of the decrease in the number of residents in many cities - black flight is. Even middle-class blacks are following their white counterparts to the suburbs. Let's talk about why black folks are moving out of cities. Is it because of choice, or are we being forced out by government policy at the Federal, State and local level?
