Color Aroused, Democratic Senate Majority leader, Harry Reid stated today that the Senate can do "whatever we want" with regard to seating Roland Burris, the black appointee of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. I like many bloggers, I feel that Reid may want to rethink that position. It's interesting to watch the same Senate who gave convicted felon Ted Stevens a standing ovation (Reid calling him “distinguished colleague”), is also the same Senate that supported the bigotry of aging former Klan member Senate Byrd of West VA, and the racial hatred of "now dead" Strom Thurmond, are again trying to exclude yet another black man from the U.S. Senate. This is not the first time the Senate attempted to use the RACE CARD to exclude a black man. Now we learn, Harry Reid’s on a taped conversations with Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich shortly before his arrest insisted no black folks replace Obama in the Senate seat he vacated. Reid wanted (whites) Tammy Duckworth or Lisa Madigan. Reid is said to have scoffed at having blacks like, Jesse Jackson Jr., Emil Jones, Danny Davis, or any other black politician taking the position. I guess Post Racial is not part of Senate Majority leader, Harry Reid's color aroused vocabulary? http://www.whereistheoutrage.net/wordpress/2009/01/01/one-stupid-deed-deserves/ http://simmerdown3.wordpress.com/2008/12/31/harryy-reid-is-wrong-and-is-acting-with-prejudice-toward-roland-burris/
