Wall Street is still in crisis, the Congressional Black Caucus, 'which sold us out years ago,' received $500,000 from pharmaceutical giant Lilly to put on the CBC Event in Washington, DC. Reps. Elijah Cummings and Donna Edwards, both Maryland Democrats, are now among them. They said Obama had pledged if he wins the White House that he would help homeowners facing foreclosure on their mortgages. He also pledged to support changes in the bankruptcy law to make it less burdensome on consumers. Rep. Donna F. Edwards (D) and veteran Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D) announced their flip at a joint press conference yesterday morning. In interviews, both said they struggled with the decision, noting they had lingering concerns that the bill will do too little to help working class constituents facing possible foreclosure. Both represent districts that have been hit hard by the foreclosure crisis; Cummings represents Baltimore and Edwards, who won a June special election, represents much of Prince George's and part of Montgomery counties. AAPP: Great work Donna Edwards, great work for the new "progressive." black politican. I guess Donna Edwards is turning out to be just like the rest of them. She sold us out real early, and for so little money. Check the Bailout vote's money trail. Forget all the excuses. She is is just as out of touch as the rest of the Maryland delegation. maybe she is bucking for a new job in the obama administration? how much did the Congressional Black Caucus get for the poor, working poor and the black middle class of their districts? NOTHING! Join me tonight as we discuss Black Political leadership in Chaos.
