Tonia worked alongside Hennepin County Commissioner of District 2, Mark Stenglein, as his Policy Aide. She has direct experience working on many complex county issues and projects that are a part of the day-to-day work of a Commissioner. If elected, you can be assured that Tonia is able to hit the ground running as she is very knowledgeable about Hennepin County issues.

Tonia's professional experience also includes 15 years of public service advocating for Hennepin County residents. This includes assisting county residents in obtaining livable wage paying jobs to take care of themselves and families; advocating for families in the areas of pay equity, tougher domestic abuse policies, and child protection; and serving as a mentor to many inner city youth. Tonia's background in human services is why, if elected, she will work hard to save you money, by enforcing performance driven outcomes when it comes to contracting out, or outsourcing many county services.
