Adult Placement Network's show host Nancy E. Wolske interviews Joy Corcoran, storyteller and blog author of Chronically Inspired. Joy's philosophy involves rising about pain creatively: "Pain prevention and management is a serious problem and should be supervised by a medical professional and physical therapist. But dealing with it day to day is a personal journey that must involve the imagination, heart and soul. I’ve discovered many ways of living fully and feeling great pleasure. Pain is an undercurrent, but I’ve created a space in my mind and heart for the arts and their power to help me rise above it. I’ve consulted with artists, writers and art therapists throughout my life. I’ve made it my life’s work to read everything on ways to improve my spirit, my creativity and my sense of well-being. Now as I turn 50, I see many peers dealing with pain and physical changes and I want to share what I’ve learned to help them see the power in their own situations. I realize now that my life’s journey has been a gift, and a gift is something more valuable if it’s shared." Visit Joy's site to learn more: http://chronicallyinspired.com/
