Did he have to say this? NO.  In stark contrast, New Orleans Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson opened up to Sports Illustrated's Chris Ballard in a heart-wrenching piece detailing the struggle of life after the death of his girlfriend Gia Allemand. It's a story about suicide and its aftermath, but more importantly survival.  I'll use the two stories as a point-counter-point to detail when an athelete should and shouldn't speak his or her mind to the press.    PLUS: The Bears are in Permanent Hibernation, the Cubs may make a splash, Wrigley Field is blown to bits, and oh so many more news around the sports world!   HERE'S THE MUST READ FROM CHRIS BALLARD ON RYAN ANDERSON http://www.si.com/nba/2014/11/13/ryan-anderson-gia-allemand?page=2&devicetype=default 02:00:00The Adam Cipinko ShownoChicago Bulls,Derrick Rose,Ryan Anderson,Gia Allemand,Suicide PreventionChicago Bulls' point guard Derrick Rose jostled an entire city when he admitted that the reason for him sitting out some games early in the young NBA season waThere May Be Giants: World Series Wrap-up and a Winter Watchlisthttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/adamcipinko/2014/11/01/there-may-be-giants-world-series-wrap-up-and-a-winter-watchlistSportshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/adamcipinko/2014/11/01/there-may-be-giants-world-series-wrap-up-and-a-winter-watchlist/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/adamcipinko/2014/11/01/there-may-be-giants-world-series-wrap-up-and-a-winter-watchlistSat, 01 Nov 2014 18:00:00 GMTThere May Be Giants: World Series Wrap-up and a Winter Watchlist The San Francisco Giants won their 3rd World Series title in 5 years with an epic Game 7 victory over the Kansas City Royals. Madison Bumgarner became myth, man and legend and the Giants have now cemented themselves as a dynasty. But will the winning continue in the Bay Area or have the Giants actually punctuated their dynasty?  Before the World Series could reach its climactic finish, Joe Maddon decided to shake up the baseball world by opting out of his contract with the Tampa Bay Rays and is now all but a lock to become the newest manager of the Chicago Cubs. I'll discuss the upcoming offseason that could shift a balance in power for the 2015 season.  And last but certainly not least, the NBA is back and my beloved Chicago Bulls look like a team on a mission. Now, I'm writing this before knowing how they will do/did against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, but I'm optimistic dammit!  Tune in same time same place!  01:58:00The Adam Cipinko ShownoMadison Bumgarner,San Francisco Giants,Kansas City Royals,Joe Maddon,Chicago CubsThe San Francisco Giants won their 3rd World Series title in 5 years with an epic Game 7 victory over the Kansas City Royals. After months of mishandling by the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens and the media covering this story, Rice has finally been cut from his now former team and suspended indefinitely by the Commissioner Roger Goodell. Why did it take nearly four months from the original, ludicrous suspension of merely two games for jsutice to be served? I explain why the NFL, Roger Goodell and multiple reporters throughout the country should be burned at the stake over this insane display of stupidity.  To make matters more detestable, the NBA faces yet another case of organizational racism, this time from general manager of the Atlanta Hawks Danny Ferry. After the Donald Sterling saga, one would hope that the issue of race would no longer harm the landscape of the sport. Sadly, Mr. Ferry and the Hawks proved this week that this is not just an organizational issue, but a league-wide issue.    01:59:00The Adam Cipinko ShownoRay Rice,NFL,Roger Goodell,Baltimore Ravens,Racism in AmericaIt's been a long and tough week with the Ray Rice saga currently casting a dark cloud over the NFL. Has LeBron's legacy been restored? Will the critics (me included) stop giving him such a hard time? Did he do the right thing? I'll delve into the Earth-shattering "Decision 2.0" and explain why it may have been more annoying than the circus of the Summer of 2010.  This episode will also take an introspective into the psyche of the sports fan with regards to viewing professional athletes and contracts. Mainly, we will look at the Melo-Drama in the NBA to delve into the biggest question of all: do you take the money or do you go for the title? Plus it's All-Star Weekend and the Cubs are getting a glimpse into the future. Will Arismendy Alcantara's big day in Cincy lead to bigger things? And did the Cubs get enough for Jeff Samardzija on July 4th? Will Anthony Rizzo get a chance to take a "swing" at Aroldis Chapman?  All of this and more at the new time at 2 PM EST!  01:29:00The Adam Cipinko ShownoCarmelo Anthony,NBA,New York Knicks,Jeff Samardzija,Chicago CubsIt's official: LeBron James returns to Cleveland, shaking up the ENTIRE NBA picture. THIS WILL BE A PERMANENT CHANGE FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE This week I'll wrap up the beginning of the NBA offseason following Thursday night's NBA Draft. I'll mostly address the rumors surrounding a few highly coveted players including Carmelo Anthony and one LeBron James. Will there be a Decision 2.0?  I'll take an in-depth look at the Chicago Bulls and address what they must do going forward to make a serious run for the Eastern Conference and NBA title in 2015. Don't worry, fellow ATLiens. I will also talk Hawks basketball and maybe I will talk about Melo perhaps lighting up the Highlight Factory alongside LeBron James.  PLUS: I'll break down all of the rumors, picks, trades, etc. surrounding the NHL and the Chicago Blackhawks. Since the show will be taking place during the second day of the NHL Draft, I am not too sure what I may be talking about. Will Ryan Kesler be a 'Hawk? Has the Patrick Sharp Era ended? Did the 'Hawks actually get a second-line center? But due to technology sometimes failing, we are now going to revist the Cramps in light of the San Antonio Spurs recent whippings of the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. They now lead the series 3-1 going back to Texas, but is the series really over? I'll ask our first ever guest and Miami native John Michaels who was there for both Games 3 and 4!    Plus, the Atlanta Falcons are on HBO's Hard Knocks. Yes, you read that correctly. Will there be more drama thanks to the recent season-ending injury to Sean Weatherspoon or are we in for a snoozefest?  And in baseball news, the Chicago Cubs are still in last place, but they look like they have life. Playoffs. The NCAA Tournament went off of the rails this past week, and now we get to ever so closer to the Final Four. I'll recap all of the Sweet 16 action and take a look ahead to today's later Elite 8 games.  Lots of moves are happening around the NFL, including a couple of big free agency moves. Most notably, the Bears add veteran sack master Jared Allen to their new-look defensive line and the Eagles release DeSean Jackson. We'll look around the NFC and see which team has the best chance to have a breakout season.  While a couple of free agency moves did happen, the majority of the focus shifted to Orlando for the GM Meetings, where so far we've seen goal-post dunking banned, said goal posts getting wider, and proposed rule changes for the NFL playoffs thrown out for discussion. I'll give my take on some of the big changes.  Speaking of playoffs, the NHL's second season is starting to get into focus. The defending Stanley Cup champions are struggling, and the playoff picture gets muddier as the season winds down. We'll look around the league and try to find who has the best chance of hoisting Lord Stanley's Cup this summer.  No, it isn't summer, but MLB Opening Day is upon us! I'll focus on the hometown Braves and my loveable losing Cubs to break down the Opening Day lineups and rotations. You'll get to learn a little about myself in the first segment of the show.  The Madness is in full swing! Plenty of brackets were busted yesterday thanks to local Macon's own Mercer Bears and the Lumberjacks of Stephen F. Austin. I'll give you my final four picks, plus a preview of today's third round action!  We know it's called March Madness for the basketball, but it's been pretty crazy over in the NFL this month, too. As we get closer to the Draft, the Raiders made a game-changing trade for quarterback Matt Schaub. How will this impact the draft stock of young QB's Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel? More importantly, how will this impact the Atlanta Faclons' pick at #6?  Speaking of the Dirty Birds, Devin Hester has landed in the ATL. We'll look at what this means for the Falcons and what they'll be looking to get done over the next few weeks before the NFL Draft.  Finally, we'll wrap up Spring Training news for the Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs. Why Atlanta and Chicago? Well I live in one city and I'm a fan of the other team up north. Not much of a reason, honestly, but I think it's good enough.    01:29:00The Adam Cipinko ShownoMarch Madness,NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament,Brackets,NFL Free Agency,Atlanta FalconsWelcome to the show!  Come get to know your host for an hour and 30.
