Joseph Wheeler joins Eklectricity with Adam and Belinda

Contemporary Gospel Singer, Songwriter and Performer, Joseph Wheeler recognized his passion for music when he was very young.  Raised in West Helena, Arkansas, Joseph's early musical influences include Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, The Jackson 5 and The Commodores.

At age 16, Joseph began performing in Arkansas nightclubs where he came to the attention of several bands who requested he perform with them.  He accepted those invitations and began performing both nationally and internationally, performing as far away as Italy.

The birth of Joseph's daughter caused him to change course--opting to then begin a more stable career with the US Government.  He would eventually receive a Master's Degree in Divinity from Interdenominational Theological Center and would begin teaching evening courses at Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, Georgia.   He is also past President of the Clayton County NAACP.

While passionate about his other pursuits, the love for music never left him.  A self-taught pianist, Joseph served as the Minister of Music both at New Pleasant Grove Church in Forest Park, Georgia and at Greater New Hope Christian Assembly in Stockbridge, Georgia.
