    We The People

Here is an editorial I wrote a few weeks ago about politicians, grass roots and back to basics:$0$0$0$0$0To the Editor:$0$0Lawmakers are on recess and not a moment too soon.  Originally the plan was for them tohold town hall meetings and sell government health care.  Oklahomans are fortunate to have Repswho listen and understand things like freedom and the Constitution.  Not so in other states.  On the news we see lawmakers cut shortgetting an ear full from concerned Americans.  Many of these politicians don’t like what they hear.  Some now avoid town hall meetingsclaiming that the grass roots they are watering is Astroturf.  As politicians cling to taxation andregulation they have reduced a system of checks and balances to a system ofsmoke and mirrors. “Beware of big business” they tell us, then raise taxes toutinga “jobless” recovery. “Shame on Big Oil” they shout, then raise our energybills promising green jobs and prosperity.  “The insurance companies are villains,” they proclaim, attempting to overhaul healthcare with end of life counseling and a public optionthat promises to be no option at all. These politicians promise liberation through restriction and shove itdown our throats with the fervor of a pressure boiler timeshare salesmancrying, “emergency buy now!”  Theirform of justice is “just us”. “Trust ‘just us’ America, we will be your one stop recovery shop”.  They have the audacity to believe theycan run our lives when they can’t even define “clunker”.  It appears we are living in an upsidedown world.  People who wereelected to represent us don’t. These people tell us good things are bad and badthings are good.  Everything isgetting crazy so, it is time to get back to the basics.  It time to pray.  I pray for a ground swell of Americanswho will pray for our country. Pray for freedom, liberty and justice for all.  I would never pray ill on anyone but I do ask God to confusethe wicked.  Our only hope isAmericans who will take to their knees and then take a stand.  Many are doing this.  God bless them and may they continue.Do not grow weary in well doing. There are politicians who see the people who oppose them as  the problem but the opposite is true. The answer is clear.  It is plainlywritten on our Declaration of Independence.  The answer? We The People.$0$0
