In June 2015, John had the chance to go on an eight-day, 2,500-mile tour throughout the South to visit significant Civil Rights sites, museums and monuments. He also had the chance to meet with people who were in the forefront of the Movement, people like Rutha Mae Harris, Carolyn McKinstry, Lisa McNair, and Juanita Abernathy. On today's show, John talks about the Tour but also includes some clips of Freedom Songs sung by Rutha Harris and insights John recorded when the veterans of the Movement spoke with the Tour team. If this part of American history interests you, then this show is a must-listen.
