Moorish Divine and National Movement Facelift

    Islam,

Sister it has become apparent to me that our Moorish Divine Movement needs a facelift.  No I am not talking about changing the teachings of our Prophet Noble Drew Ali, but how it is presented to the public.  Trigger words these are words which people associate with things of meaning in there lives.  Like the word Prophet, as soon as you say this, people associate this with religion.  Our divine movement is not a religious organization(at least it shouldn't be).  Then you have the word divine, this is a very powerful word because it connotates being God-like(which we are); but with the publics perception of God, this creates a problem.  Our problem I believe is trying to present a 1928 marketing plan in this day and time.  We do things which run our youth away, because to them we look stupid.  So to get to my point, DO YOU FEEL THAT A NEW WAY OF PRESENTATION CAN/WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THE CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE MSTA.  I am presently dealing with some members who want to develop a MSTA here in Las Vegas.  I am personnally against the Ideal because I want to establish a Moorish Academy for Higher Learning. We have in my oppinon to many quasi-religious fronts in our community as it is.  With this Academy we are here to teach and not preach.  It will be set up like a school, for children and adults..  No membership, no commitment.  What ever you want to learn about the science of life, you sign up, pay your tuition, and go to class..

The classes will be run/taught be qualified individuals of the subject matter.  With the onslaught of videos we have more than enough visual aid to last us a lifetime.  They are saying I am going against what the Prophet set forth for us, I am saying the Prophet gave us everything we need and it is up to us to use it(our minds) to develop what is the best way for the times we are living in.  I see you belong to the Murakush Temple, now this sounds hip to me.  If you have any information on how to develop such a temple please forward to me.  Because I am having so much confusion as to how to start something in this area.  Many probably because I don't see how it will be attractive to the community.

I read in a previous discussion that there is no official place for one to be Naturalized, why?  Here we are telling people that there Nationality is Moorish, but there is no venue to claim such a status.  As you stated it starts in the mind, you must declare it to yourself, I applaud you for saying this.  Because there wasn't a place to declare you a Negro, Black, or any of these other so-called names of idenity our people have.  So how do we get the word out officially.  Can we just make a proclaimation claiming our status(this might have been done already with the UN).  It is definitely a puzzle, because I do not see our people joining some store front temple looking like people from a foreign country.

Well I guess I have vented enough, ask those about my ideas, especially the Academy.  May you continue to be blessed.  Look forward to hearing from you.

    Peace Prince Hassan
