Don Mann spent 18 years as a Navy SEAL and was a member of the exclusive and elite SEAL Team Six for 8 of those years.  Following the events of May 2, 2011 and the raid on the Osama Bin Laden compound by SEAL Team Six, Don felt compelled to give the world a glimpse into this secretive military unit and wrote Inside SEAL Team Six: My Life and Missions with America’s Elite Warriors.  Mr. Mann joins Michael Ostrolenk in this podcast to discuss his book – parts of which have been censored by the U.S. Government.  In addition to revealing the history of this special ops force, Mr. Mann also gives his assessment of the possible consequences of  President Obama’s decision to publicly acknowledge the existence of the team including divulging the identities of its members. Michael and Don also discuss what it takes to build the mental and physicial toughness needed to become a SEAL and the extreme psychological, fitness, and endurance challenges these men face. Don Mann is also the author of The Modern Day Gunslinger: The Ultimate Handgun Training Manual and the forthcoming The U.S. Navy SEAL Survival Handbook.
