A licensed ophthalmologist, Dr. Rand Paul became the new US Senator from the state of Kentucky on January 3, 2011. Known for his libertarian views and a self-described Constitutional Conservative, he is considered to be a major voice for the Tea Party movement. Senator Jim Demint described Senator Paul as "a true conservative who will stand up to the Washington establishment...exactly the kind of leader Americans are looking for right now." He attended Baylor University and is a graduate from the Duke University School of Medicine. He is the father of three sons, the husband of 19 years to Kelley Paul, and the son of Carol Wells Paul and libertarian icon Representative Ron Paul. We welcome back to the show, Michael Williams, a Commissioner on the Railroad Commission of Texas, which regulates the oil and gas industry. He also served as Assistant Secretary of Education for the Civil Rights at the US Department of Education, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Law Enforcement at the Treasury Department, and the chairman of both the Governor’s Competitiveness Council and the Governor’s Clean Coal Technology Council. He also has served in a volunteer capacity as the General Counsel of the Republican Party of Texas, the chairman of the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission, on the Board of Directors of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, the Texas Public Policy Foundation and Our Mother of Mercy Catholic School. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California where he holds a bachelor’s, a master’s and a law degree. He is currently a leading Conservative candidate for the US Senate.
