By Tammi Joyner

There are many books on supporting teens.  There are books about supporting teens who are going

out for  extra-curricular activities.  With each unique teen there will be  unique data.  Information

that will specify what is right for the given teen.  Like every other child in the world your teen has

his or her own specific patterns.
Adding a sport or a job to your teens life may help structure your teens schedule.
The  idea of gaining a job or playing a sport  may help to support a routine.  Hopefully your teen

will find interest in one of the options.
Your teen may even opt out of both.
Whatever the case support your teen.
If you are adamant try to give your teen  a demonstration of the benefits.
Take your teen to work with you, show your teen the pro and cons of the workforce.
If your  teen is interested give your teen  the option of an on the job training experience or a job as

an intern .
Sports may or maynot be the highlight of your teens life.
Remember all teens are not football, baseball, or basketball players.  Some teens like track, tennis,

chess, bowling,  and/or the debate team.
Make sure all options are available but don't just opt give the opportunity
