Doug Ordunio was born in Glendale, California in 1950. A student at Glendale College and Cal State Northridge, he majored in musical composition and voice. From 1973-1986 he was the FM Programmer of what was then the only commercial classical music station in Los Angeles, KFAC AM-FM. For the last eight years he was a member of the station’s prestigious announcing staff.
Simultaneously, he worked as a professional singer in many churches around Southern California. In addition he performed with the Duke Ellington Band (when Duke was still living), the NY City Opera, and the Greek Theater Opera.
He was also a program annotator who wrote over 300 articles about classical music. His employers in this regard included UCLA Center for the Performing Arts, Ojai Music Festival, Pasadena Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, South Bay Center for the Arts, and others.
His voice has been heard on numerous audio books. From 1989-2005, he worked for AEI and DMX Inflight, creating thousands of musical and talk programs for the world’s commercial airlines.
In 1989, he became the producer of the popular syndicated radio program, The Romantic Hours, hosted by concert pianist Mona Golabek. The show, heard over many stations around the US is a wedding between classical music and romantic love letters/poetry.
Since 2005, he has devoted himself exclusively to writing. His poetry book, Murmurationis, is available on amazon.com. He hopes to have his saga of four hoboes, RAILS, published before the end of 2009. The book you hold in your hands was the result of a sudden detour he took in 2008.
Last but not least, he designed the website for New Millennium Records, for which he invented The Classroom—an online place where young people can learn the basic rudiments of music in over 100 rooms of images, audio, and text.

A bizarre story of the web!
When writer Doug Ordunio suffered a traumatic accident in his home, he was placed in a nursing facility. While working on a laptop, he decided to become a female (!) writer on the same website he was registered as a male. What began as a bit of a game turned into something infinitely more serious.
Women loved his writing, but when they began to confide in him, relating stories of sexual violence as well as their problems with self-mutilation, his caring was evoked as well as his inspiration. What happeed is a captivating story that explores the depths of human feelins and emotions.
Underlying this tale is the reality of today’s world, in which out obsessions with the computer create less of a global village and more isolation from the rest of humanity.
The book contains over 100 original proems written as himself as well as his female persona.

RENÉE’S REVIEW

Tangled Web is a book of poetry. While all of this poetry was written by Doug, some of it was written during for his pretense. A charade where he created a profile for himself on line and began corresponding with women as a woman named Berenice. His results were unexpected, and while I will not comment to the morality of his decision or actions, I will comment on his poetry.
It is beautiful, tragic, evocative, and thought provoking. Poetry has always been my favorite form of expression, and when I read the words of a true wordsmith, I am truly envious of such talent. Doug Ordunio is a talented man, a prolific writer, and he has the ability to connect with a reader at a deeper level than most.
That becomes apparent in his book when the women he meets on line respond to his words. However, the story of his bizarre masquerade as a woman soon becomes common knowledge among his newfound friends and his peers. The result should have been foreseen, but Mr. Ordunio sees a higher meaning to the experience.
I found the book intriguing, the poetry touching, but the masquerade . . . My suggestion, read the Tangled Web.

The premise of this Science Fiction / Romance novel caught me off guard. I was blown away and completely enamored with the idea. This novel will make you wish you were of the Synergian race and that there was only one true match for you.
Linda Mooney takes you on a beautiful journey to the stars and beyond. She has a wonderful ability for writing stunningly beautiful scenes and the expertise for making an emotional connection through her characters. She is a talented and powerful writer and I highly recommend My Strength, My Power, My Love. It is a necessary read for all lovers of science fiction or romance.
