Scott tells us “The Tanglewood can be found anywhere that the sunlight streams through the trees and the noise of man is left far behind. It can also be found in the hearts of anyone, young or old, who still dreams of another land, or another time, where the magic of the fey is strong and bright.”
Scott also claims that The Tales of Tanglewood is not just a story. It is the culmination of many years worth of dreams. It is a wish upon a star, glowing brightly in the midnight sky. It is a childhood fantasy of wonder and magic brought to life.
Scott has toiled as a graphic artist for many years, seeing fit to labor away
at a multitude of short stories and longer story ideas, with the idea in mind that he would one day publish a collection. It was not until recently that he began work on The Tales of Tanglewood, and everything has changed.
Partially inspired by his love for fantasy and folklore, and his love for his wife, whose ideas contributed much to the story, Scott hopes that anyone who reads it can feel the same magic he felt when writing it. He loves the woods. He loves Ireland. He writes. He draws. He cooks. He loves his wife. He enjoys the little things in life. Strip the world of contemporary shopping malls and mind-dulling technology, and you will find the world a magical place to be.
Scott Michael Kessman currently resides in Long Island, New York, where he lives happily with his beautiful wife and two annoying cats. He has always been a writer, since the days of early childhood, when he was first able to put his dreams into words.

Renée’s Review of
by
The Tales of Tanglewood --The Lon Dubh Whistle by Scott Kessman is a chronicle based on a fantasy many of us have had as children – the hope of seeing the fairy folk. Walking through the woods enjoying the sounds of nature with sunlight dancing off the leaves, and butterflies flitting among the trees is the moment we have all imagined the magic of fairyland and the creatures that reside there.
In this wonderful tale, a young boy finally gets his wish. Colin meets the elves, pixies, sprites, and brownies and finds his destiny. After falling for the devious temptation of the sprites, he takes on an adventure to capture the Lon Dubh Whistle. Will his mistake lead to war or salvation for the fey?
I loved The Tales of Tanglewood. It is a great escape, and a story that will touch the hearts of adults and fill the minds of children with its truth. I highly recommend this book to parents and grandparents who want to give the gift of imaginative adventure.
Join us Thursday night for a discussion of fantasy and magic!
