The road of healing has held its pain, its gifts and its surprises. Bobbie did not think she could survive this, but she has and it is her hope that by sharing her experience she might help ease someone else's pain.

Bobbie Marquis - Guest for July 2009 program; Grief, Loss and Moving on

I am originally from Connecticut but have resided in Englewood, FL for the past five years.  Although I have been active in business, community and non-profit activities, my number one passion, as with all mothers is my children.  My two sons, Adam and Andre were born four years apart: in 1984 and 1988.   In January of 2008, the unthinkable happened to me.  My beautiful 23-year old son, Adam died by suicide.  His tragic death ended my existence as I had known it, and propelled me on a journey that I did not choose.  The road of healing has held its pain, its gifts and its surprises.  I did not think I could survive this, but I have and it is my hope that by sharing my experience I might help ease someone else's pain.

Bobbie Marquis is a web designer and software consultant.  She is the owner of IBIS LLC in Englewood, Florida.
