Author Shirley Roe talks about her new book, The Whittaker Family Reunion.

Author Shirley Roe talks about her new book, The Whittaker Family Reunion. Call it channeling, contact with spirits or just a healthy imagination, the encounters led to a five star historical fiction novel, Of Dreams and Nightmares and now the sequel, The Whittaker Family Reunion. The book is receiving excellent reviews. Emily Jane Hills Orford of Allbooks Review International says: Shirley A. Roe has once again woven a fascinating plot of mystery and intrigue with a touch of romance set in nineteenth century America. She leads us very quickly into the lives of each member of the Whittaker family, revealing their talents, their strengths and their weaknesses as they come together again, reluctantly reminiscing the horrors of their past. The family that we grew to love in Roe's first novel about Martha Whittaker, Of Dreams and Nightmares, catches our hearts and compassion yet again as the author expands her compelling tale of love and hate, good and evil. She tells a passionate tale of a family that bands together as one strong, unified force confronting their foe head-on in an attempt to avert yet another tragedy. Book is available from the publisher RealTime Publishing: http://www.theebooksale.com , Amazon.com or bookstores. Be sure and tune in to hear the full story and if your curiosity is aroused, pick up a copy of the book today. Remember The Class of '60 with author Kay Sgarlata

Kay Sgarlata Nov. 22 The Class of '60 reawakens the memories of the twelve million Americans born in the early 1940s, coming of age in the '50s, and graduating from high school in the JFK era. This unique memoir, representative of 'Anytown USA', unravels these classmates' lives to present; their experiences in marriage, raising children and struggling to put them through college, divorce, careers, the civil rights movement, health concerns and the technological explosion. If you long to recall a time of innocence and relive the experiences of the last half of the 20th Century, read The Class of '60 and you are there. Born in Syracuse, New York, Kay grew up in the town of Camillus, attended West Genesee High School, and returned to her hometown after college to start her teaching career. Kay is proud to be the unofficial historian for her fellow classmates and has amassed notebooks filled with the clippings of their weddings, achievements and honors. Today's internet has allowed her to stay in touch with almost half of the surviving members of the 224-member graduating class. For more info, go to Kay's Web page at http://kaybenedictsgarlata.com/

Phil Brown talks about "Bob Marshall in the Adirondacks"

Saturday, Nov. 8, at 6:30 p.m. EST, Pete Klein will interview Phil Brown, editor of the monthly "Adirondack Explorer," about his new book: "Bob Marshall in the Adirondacks: Writings of a Pioneering Peak Bagger, Pond-Hopper and Wilderness Preservationist," edited by Phil Brown. Bob Marshall in the Adirondacks collects nearly forty writings about the Adirondacks by one of America's greatest champions of wilderness. These articles are part of Adirondack history and part of the history of conservation. Bob Marshall embodied the spirit of wilderness, and fought for wilderness protection throughout the US. His passion for wilderness was nurtured in the Adirondack Mountains. They include numerous accounts of his pioneering hikes in the High Peaks and of his explorations in the vast wild region south of Cranberry Lake, spirited defenses of the forever wild Forest Preserve, and a charming sketch of guide Herb Clark. The articles reveal Marshall's deep personal connection to the Adirondacks, and the inspiration for his commitment to wilderness preservation. Also included are three articles by Bob's brother George Marshall; pieces by historian Phil G. Terrie, conservationist Paul Schaefer and writer Phil Brown; a humorous ode to peak-bagging by writer Bill McKibben; and, the Adirondack Council's proposed Bob Marshall Great Wilderness.
