Wake up Call Show

Wake up Call Show

We need to hold legislatures accountable when they do wrong and break the rules and sham the people. We should not reward them. How can you reward Gov Palin in the wake of troopergate and the dishonesty and unethical behaviour. Are we looking for trouble? You would trust her to run this country when she has been found guilty of corruption while serving as Governor in the State of Alaska? How can you trust Mccain when he was one of the five senators involved in the Keaton Scandal that cost taxpayers, governemnt lots of money and cost countless of people thier retirement, and livlihood. People suffered as a result of Mccain's good old boy scandal. We should not allow thies crooks into the White house when they have already proven to us from past experiences how they have put this country last not first. How can we be so blinded by the cameras, action, the act of those who only use polished words and lies, hatred to destroy us. We have seen in the past through the civil rights era the hatred and divisiveness that was used by wicked men and now this similiar strategy being used by Mccain/Palin to instigate this same national terrorism. Just listen careful and you well see that Mccain does not fall far from that tree. Our economy is unstable and as if that wasn't enough now Mccain and Palin continues to ensue aggression and instigate anger, and fear where lunatics, radicals scream out hateful rederick to destablize our national security. Then to add insult to injury Mccain turns around and acts like he is being victimize after being called on the carpet about his hatred and irresponsibilty to host decent political campaigns. Palin cant even maintain control at these rallies nevermind this country. People are screaming out Kill Obama at these rallies like a 60s lynch mob. Instead of Mccain/Palin denounce or utilizing thier security he commend these individual and praises them during his debate tonight. What bigots, and how disgusting. These two do not represent America or country first. Palin should go back to Alaska and keep hanging out with her buddies Bill Ayers and Steve Stalle, and we will talk more about Mccains connection on the Wake Up Call show shortly. No apology should be given by Obama or Senator Lewis. We have to start acting like the head and not tail. You dont see Mccain apologizing for nothing no matter how wrong. We can talk about flag pins on one hand, call out Michelle Obama and host baby daddy talks, where is Michelle Malkin now on the Palins daughter baby daddy drama. We need to respect ourselves and stop always trying to go along get along when we know these folks are dead wrong. Why do we need thier approval? One thing I will say about Joe Biden has been dead on point and in your face with truth. More time and talk needs to be devoted towards the issues that American are facing with healthcare, outsourcing of american jobs, environment, alternative energy, etc. Mccain should be ashamed of ever speaking of himself as a hero. He does not represent America. He represents terrorist. Furthermore no more questions need to be asked about the citizenship of Obama who by the way was born in Hawaii and Mccain in the Panama Canal. Hawaii is one of our 52 by the way just like ALASKA. How about Panama Canal? Last time I checked that wasnt part of american soil. I am sure citizenship was addressed when SENATOR Obama ran for senate. Have some respect people. Those of you that cant see through Mccain/Palin probally couldnt see anything wrong with separate toilets, separate water fountains or the term "that one" as a human being was sold like cattle. Quite faking the funk if your mind and heart was really open minded and right you would see the spirit Hitler in the body of Mccain. I say keep Hitler/Mccain out of power

A Sunday Conversation with Neil Nathan

Singer/songwriter Neil Nathan has applied those final touches of color to his new album The Distance Calls and is now waiting for this beautiful piece of music to hit the streets. We were able to catch up with Neil for a few minutes to see what made Neil, well . . . Neil. Here's what he had to say.

    Lemonwilde – Red Room

Flying back from a Ripple scouting mission in Montreal and Toronto, I brought up this unrecognized treasure on my ipod and was instantly transported far higher than the 35,000 foot cruising altitude of my A319 airplane. Anyone who’s read the Ripple for some time knows how much I love writing as I return from these scouting trips. There’s something about flying high above the clouds, disconnected with the earth below that lends itself to fully losing myself in the music, the very act of flying allowing the music to manifest as if it’s a physical being, carrying me high above the central plains, transporting me to another time and space.

A Sunday Conversation with Dead Beat Records

Today were making a little Ripple Road Trip to the Rock and Roll mecca of Cleveland, Ohio, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and our bid for hall of fame indy label, Dead Beat Records. Now don't you worry. We packed up our nifty red interview couch and tossed it into a trailer to haul all the way across the country, because we just couldn't wait to get our good friend Tom to sit a spell on the couch and enlighten us about the trials, tribulations, and successes of running an indy label in this digital age. After popping open a few cool drinks, we hit Tom with some questions to try and learn how he's not only managed to survive in this day and age, but to thrive and continue to put out one quality release after another. Most recently, he blew our collective Ripple minds with his discovery of Cory Case, but there's a whole lot more percolating at Dead Beat Records than that.

Kilego Vert - Journey to the Deepest Part of the Ocean

Any of you who grew up in the 60’s and 70’s knew the name Jacques Cousteau. He became synonymous with life in the water. Heck . . . I remember standing in ankle deep water in my old inflatable wading pool with flippers, a diving mask, and a pair of tidy whities as I tried to emulate my oceanic hero. The visual can be quite cute of a six year old acting out such fantasies, but in my case . . . it was last weekend and my neighbors were far from amused. Again, I digress, for what does any of this really have to do with this surprisingly artful release from Kilego Vert? Well, other than the title and theme of the album, absolutely nothing. Truth be told, I don’t believe Jacques Cousteau is even mentioned on this album, but it’s hard not to image the guy splashing around with the water life to this blissful soundtrack.

    Proto-metal Report - A Glimpse at 1971 - Three of the finest

With this installment of the proto-metal report, we're going to do something just a little different. We're going to take a look at three albums that all came out in 1971, smack dab in the formative years of proto-metal, to add an extra flavor to our understanding of what else was brewing in the rock and roll whiskey still at that time. And don't worry, we've still got an all out proto-metal classic for you to track down at the end of this report.

The Specimens - The Quick and the Deaf

I’ll be the first to admit it. I’m not a big fan of the whole garage rock sound. Just ask Racer. He knows. He’s seen the derisive curl of my lip as he’s played the stuff, and I think he either enjoys tormenting me or he actually prefers my face to look that way. No matter. Today . . . today is the day that I can finally sit back in my office chair and claim to have found an appreciation, nay . . . a love for at least one band that fits the garage rock mold. That band, as I’m sure you ever so brainy Waveriders can be, is The Specimens and I have the fine folk at Zodiac Killer Records to thank for getting this into my hands. And, I suppose I oughta’ thank Racer for not snaking this one off of my pile of goodies. Thanks Racer!

A Sunday Conversation with Eryn Non Dae (END.)

We reported a few months back that the doomy and droning French extreme metallic unit END. had signed with Metal Blade and that they had a new album in the works. All of that is true. So true, in fact, that you can now pre-order the album from Eryn Non Dae’s official web and MySpace pages. Joining us this week, we were lucky enough to track down guitarist, Franck, and entice him with a comfy seat on the red leather couch. Little did he know that he was the latest victim for our Sunday Conversation piece, and I don’t think he realized the intoxicating napping power held within the cushions of said sofa. Read on and see what Franck had to offer in his band’s approach to creating the sonic bedlam that Eryn Non Dae does so damn well.
