On May 21, Michelle will interview Grammy winner Daryl Davis, who has been keyboardist and bandleader for Rock ‘n Roll’s founding father Chuck Berry for over a quarter of a century. Mr. Davis has also worked with Jerry Lee Lewis, Chubby Checker, The Drifters, The Platters, The Coasters and many other rock music legends. Daryl is a world renowned musician and lecturer. Grammy winners Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer will join Michelle on Sunday, March 1st at 10 a.m. on The Open Stage to talk about their music and their upcoming events, including their SAW songwriting workshop on March 7th. Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer have been nominated 13 consecutive times for GRAMMY Awards in folk and children’s music. They have won 2 GRAMMY Awards for the original CD “Bon Appétit!: Musical Food Fun and “cELLAbration: a Tribute to Ella Jenkins”. Their song “Scat Like That” took first place in both the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the ISC (children’s music). Award-winning singer/songwriter Patty Reese will join Michelle on Sunday, February 8th at 12:30 p.m. on The Open Stage to talk about her music, and her upcoming shows, including her new SAW/BMI showcase at JJ Muldoon's on February 11th. Patty Reese’s style has been compared to Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge and Janis Joplin. Inspired by the vocals of Etta James and Aretha Franklin, Reese’s vocal style encompasses pop, blues, folk and rock. Along with years of accruing stacks of nominations for her vocals and her band, Reese was named Best Rock Pop Vocalist in 2004 & 2007 and 2004 Best Pop/Rock Album from the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) and she received two awards in the 2007 Mid-Atlantic Song Contest–Silver in the Rock Category for "Just Friends" and Finalist in the Gospel/Inspirational/Christian Category for "Looking Out For You."
