Join Connie and Charly as they speak with Iyabo Asani about empowering others to create abundance in their lives, discover their life purpose and live life on their terms.

Iyabo Asani is an attorney turned life and business coach. She helps smart boomers create abundance by discovering their Inner Genius and reinventing their lives. She practiced law for twenty years. By everyone’s standards, she experienced great success. She owned her own private law firm with three attorneys and lots of support staff for fourteen years. However, it was not enough. Yet, it was too much. She discovered she was burnt out and frustrated as she could no longer put legal band aids on peoples problems.

She hired a life coach to help her and discovered that she could no longer live out of alignment with her values and life purpose. She attended Leadership University’s B-Coach program to integrate coaching with her law practice. However, she discovered she preferred coaching to practicing law. She closed out her law firm three years ago and has focused solely on coaching.

    More About Twitter

Today Charly and I talked more about Twitter. We talked about the benefits of integrating twitter with you blog. By tweeting about a blog post you have just made, you can start a lively discussion with this post as a starting point.

I was wondering how to make sense of this "twitter stream" and Charly explained that it is like walking into a room full of people who are all having conversations and you just join one of these ongoing conversations.

You can refer people to each other on Twitter which makes for great networking.

When you are setting up your twitter homepage it pays to take care with it and spend time on it. It can be a great platform for you to market yourself. People will go there and use that information to decide whether they want to "follow" you or not.

Depending on what you want to achieve with it, it might pay to work with a "tech" person and a graphic designer to get your homepage looking great.

    More about Twitter

Connie and Charly discuss more about Twitter, how you can make sense of it, the benefits of integrating it with your blog and why it is such a powerful networking tool.

  • Date / Time:

    What is Twitter?

Today Charly and I talked about "Twitter". It is an amazing phenomenon sweeping the internet.

What is Twitter? It is a microblogging engine, each "tweet" is limited to 140 characters or less. Or, to describe another way, it is like an SMS chat but instead of two people chatting it can be any number of people creating a lively discussion.

On Twitter there are "Followers". Your followers can see anything you write and you can see everything somebody you are following is writing. There needs to be a balance between following and being followed. You cannot be selfish and only accumulate followers and not follow anybody else. Choose wisely who you follow - you don't want to end up following a spammer.

Remember - all social networking sites are about relationship building and not just about sending out marketing materials.

There is also a public timeline where all twitter chats can be viewed. You can search for particular topics. Once you join Twitter you have your own twitter home page, profile and your own timeline. There is also an option to exchange private messages. So, when somebody wants to get to know you and check out whether they want to follow you they will check out your home page and then maybe your blog.

In a way Twitter can be also be seen as an interactive forum but it works much faster and is less complex. It is an amazing way to get information, help and support.

To find out more, listen to our show.

Discover the Genius Within with Inez Bracy

Today we talked to Inez Bracy from
    http://www.discoverthegeniuswithin.com/

Inez is a Lifetstyle Transitions Coach, helping Boomer women over 50 to uncover their passions, dreams and desires to start living the lives they always wanted to. Often, there is a very practical and compelling reason to start "a new life" like the loss of a job or another life crisis. Quite often it is a certain restlessness that is felt within by a lot of women - they are very successful in their careers, earning good money but something is missing. They are not complete or fulfilled.

Most people are masters at running away from themselves, staying unfocused, finding lots of excuses not to stop and look within.

Inez will ask clients: "What are you willing to do to create the life you desire?" This is a very challenging question. Once you set up your own plan (with Inez's help) she will help you follow through. She has all sorts of tools at hand to make the process as fast and efficient as possible.

Listen to the call to get more fascinating insights.

Her teleseminar series "Discover the Genius Within" starts tonight.

How To Write a Resume That Will Stand Out and Get Noticed

Today we spoke to Laura Whitlelaw an expert resume writer from http://www.bestchoice4resumes.com/

The first thing to remember is the fact that potential employers are inundated with resumes. They only scan the resumes and you got about 10-30 seconds to get noticed – so a very targetted and professionally written resume is of utmost importance.

You need to position yourself and highlight your unique skills and experiences. Match them up with your employer’s needs.

To make yourself “employable” and “desirable” there are a number of steps you can take:

    1. Begin with the end in mind. What do want to achieve? Have different resumes for different purposes.
    2. Upgrade your skills if necessary
    3. Give yourself a title (derived from the job you are doing at the moment)
    4. Use 4-5 sentences to show how and why you can be valuable to you potential employer (this is a bit like a sales pitch)
    5. Talk about your accomplishments, the things you have achieved in the past
    6. Put keywords and phrases throughout your resume so a data scanner will pick it up when those keywords are searched for
    7. Use action verbs at the beginning of your sentences
    8. Scatter some testimonials through your resume – they can be excerpts from past references or job review reports etc.
    9. Use interesting fonts and bolding but don’t go “overboard” either
    10. Don’t use personal pronouns in resume

To have a look at some great sample resumes go to
    http://www.bestchoice4resumes.com/

We discussed a number of other things during today’s interview with Laura. Listen to the call to get the full details.
