Join Connie and Charly as they speak with Iyabo Asani about empowering others to create abundance in their lives, discover their life purpose and live life on their terms.

Iyabo Asani is an attorney turned life and business coach. She helps smart boomers create abundance by discovering their Inner Genius and reinventing their lives. She practiced law for twenty years. By everyone’s standards, she experienced great success. She owned her own private law firm with three attorneys and lots of support staff for fourteen years. However, it was not enough. Yet, it was too much. She discovered she was burnt out and frustrated as she could no longer put legal band aids on peoples problems.

She hired a life coach to help her and discovered that she could no longer live out of alignment with her values and life purpose. She attended Leadership University’s B-Coach program to integrate coaching with her law practice. However, she discovered she preferred coaching to practicing law. She closed out her law firm three years ago and has focused solely on coaching.

    The Fearless Factor

Today Charly and I talked to Jacqueline Wales from http://www.thefearlessfactor.com
Jacqueline has an amazing history and achieved many things in her life that she would have never dreamt of. She is an inspiration to listen to.

The "Fearless Factor" is all about going beyond fear. Fear is based in our imagination (unless it is a real life threatening situation). Our imagination goes into overdrive and into a very negative mode. Our only reality is here and now. We have no idea what will happen, we can't possibly know. We can project into the future in a positive way by saying something like: "If I have it my way, this will happen..."

Fear is like an abyss, we need to work out how to get to the other side and the only way is to jump - it is not as far as you think it is. Fear can also be defined as the "inability to trust". This could be not trusting ourselves or others. On the other side of fear is love, especially loving yourself, and the firm belief that anything is possible.

Being fearless does not mean the absence of fear but the ability to get to the "other side". How to overcome fear? Start acting "as if" or like some of my mentors have put it: "Fake it till you make it".

    Fear has 5 elements:
    • Loss
    • Abandonment
    • Rejection
    • Humiliation
    • Failure or success

When we have fear one or many of the 5 elements above are activated. For example, to manage the fear of failure just redefine failure as something that "didn't work". You simply did not have enough information.

Jacqueline shared one practical way how you can overcome your fears:

Carry palm cards and write down any negative thought or fear that comes to mind as soon as it does. Then turn the card around and write the opposite thought on the back.

This is a great tool as it graphically reminds you every time you have self sabotaging thoughts and you have an opportunity to turn them around.

Jacqueline left us with one parting thought: "Remember that fear is an option".

The Fearless Factor With Jacqueline Wales

What can you learn from a former alcoholic, mother of four, author, singer and global nomad who earned a black belt in karate at age 49, has performed in front of thousands of people, and developed a system to help people go beyond the fears, doubts and anxieties that hold their lives in limitation instead of abundance? - Plenty!

A lifelong adventurer, Jacqueline Wales began her motivational career on the tenement steps of her building at age 9 giving advice to the neighborhood children. After a few detours, she began singing at age 40, writing at age 41(currently 5 books) and at 43 she took up martial arts. At 49 she had earned a red belt in Tai Kwon Do and a black belt in Shotokan karate. Who says life begins at 40! She also sang in front of thousands of people as a lay-cantor for synagogues in Paris and Amsterdam, and recorded an album of original material. At 54, Jacqueline decided she wanted to go into business and began her first motivational company Fearless Fifties, which in 2009 was rebranded to The Fearless Factor. The book of the same name has just been released. She says she’s just getting started.

Jacqueline has been a global nomad for over forty years and has lived on three continents and six cities including London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Paris, Amsterdam, New York and Bali. By applying the skills she learned in over thirty years of making change in her own life, she has successfully made the leap from author and mother of five children to being an extraordinary force in the women’s self-help movement.

    Spiritfest 2010

This week Charly and I interviewed Georgina Abrahams or "JD". JD together with a team of other volunteers is the instigator and organiser of "Spiritfest" which is now in its 8th year. It will be happening again from January 7-10, 2010, in a National Park about 1 1/2 hours drive from the centre of Sydney.
Each year Spiritfest has a theme and this time the theme is "creativity".

Technology is "king" and creativity has been pushed aside and is seen as  a kind of luxury, an indulgence, something that is just for fun when we have nothing better to do. Yet - creativity is very important and very broad - don't just think "art" or "crafts".
Listen to our interview to find out lots more about creativity and Spiritfest:

Today we are going to talk to JD (or Georgina Abrahams) about Spiritfest which is one of her many creations/achievements. Spiritfest will be taking place near Sydney in January 2010. Even if you live on the other side of the world, JD's ideas and enthusiasm might inspire you to organise your own Spiritfest or get your creative juices flowing to come up with other ideas. JD is a fountain of knowledge regarding spiritual matters in general and we are really looking forward to talking to her.

    Internet Giveaways

Today Charly and I discussed "Giveaways" on our radio show. Giveaways are events on the internet which you can take part in. Usually giveaways have a theme or a directed at a specific interest group. When an Internet marketer decides to organise a giveaway  they first of all need contributors or JV partners who are willing to give a product (usually downloadable) or a service free of charge.  Charly and Lenore Miller from Outrageously Healthy have just organised a giveaway. The "Outrageous Health Giveaway" is open at the moment for anybody interested in Health and Wellbeing. There are over 85 gifts there at the time of writing and there might be more. Charly and Lenore have checked out the gifts personally to make sure they are good quality. Check it out here:

    http://stretchyourmindandbody.com/blog/mowb

As a "member" you can then visit the giveaway and download as many of the products as you want free of charge in return for giving your name and email address to the person who contributed the gift.

In case you have a great gift you want to contribute it may not be too late, talk to Charly and Lenore here:
