Steph Jordan

I'm an Artist on a mission. Or maybe many missions. I paint, design jewelry, teach art and mixed media and do many other crafts. I also create Journals that inspire you to write without telling you how to think. Life is too long not to memorialize yours in words. Aside from making a note in history you also learn so much about yourself. Today you write, tomorrow you learn! To see more of my art or my Journals visit my website www.diviacity.com or my Blog at http://www.diviacity.blogspot.com Thanks so much for stopping in. Dream in Color!! You can also view my art videos on www.youtube.com/diviacity See bottom of page for slideshow of some of my art!

    Rainy Days

Well it seems I got caught up in the World Wide Web over the past couple of  months. Between my Journals and my Art and Facebook and Twitter and Blogging...Oh my! I've missed Blogtalk and the interaction. Being able to call in and talk to the amazing hosts and meet so many wonderful people.  I do hope everyone is doing well.

I'm still on my mission!  I've started a new blog a few months ago and spend a bit of time over there. Please check it out http://www.diviacity.blogspot.com.

I still make Journals and have posted a ton of new ones on my website at www.diviacity.com
Journaling is a wonderful way to spend your rainy days. It tends to clear our minds when there is no pressure to do anything but relax and enjoy it for what it is.

Come see me sometimes.  There are links on my blog to Interviews, Magazine Articles... oh yeah, I've been writing a weekly article at Divapreneur Magazine in the Body and Soul section. http://fuzzb.com/magazine/divapreneur/?cat=8.

Well off to work I go (in my studio). I hope everyone has a wonderful and peaceful day!

    I wish you well!

Well its been interesting, eye opening, calming, confusing, I think I've experienced every form of emotion you could experience in the past couple of weeks! Trying to stay focused on the goal can be daunting when everything around you is tossing and turning. But it can be done.

Sometimes simply figuring out whats most calming to you and making use of that knowledge can be a tremendous step. For me its being creative, doing artwork. For some it may be cooking, or cleaning or fishing...whatever, remember that you have that at your disposal. You could pull out a piece of paper if you don't have access to your Journal and write a letter to yourself (to me journals are like personal letters to myself). Add it to your Journal later. Write about whats been going on and how its affected you and include ideas for resolving it. This may help you deal with it in a more productive or calming way the next time around.

Journaling can also help as a temporary bandage to a tight situation. Really. Sit down and write and you might discover that by the time you have finished writing you have calmed yourself for the time.  This will open up mental space and allow you some clarity.

Whatever your method, I wish you a calm and blessed journey.

Learn to create your own Journal or other calming arts by watching my videos at www.youtube.com/diviacity

Great Journey and Colorful Dreams to you!

    Moxie Maverick
    Do You

Stephanie Jordan pulled into her office parking lot one day after lunch and hit the wall, metaphorically speaking. She calls it "corporate burn." She collapsed, composed herself, and resigned. This moment had been a long time coming. She didn't have a plan. But she knew she had lost her true self in her career and that she must make a big change immediately. She was too exhausted to be anything but honest.

Stephanie entered a long, sometimes dark, clearing-out phase. She mourned what she had sacrificed of herself for her former job. She let go of any and everything that "was not (her)." She even left or redefined her relationships to free herself from the choices of others that held her back. Close friends and family helped her clean out her closets even when they didn't understand her decisions. She admits that she was scared at first. But she knew that she had, deep within her, the moxie to get up again.

At the same time, Stephanie paid close attention to what appealed to her. She posted a picture of her dream beach house, with the words "live you" written on it, over her door. As she made space in her life she committed to doing three things every day that motivated her. She visited the nearest beach every day. A shift began to occur. She had previously designed jewelry as a side business. She recognized that she enjoyed the creative work but labored over the production to meet demand. So she returned to her creative interests by making new art, this time with mixed media that had always intrigued her.

And then Stephanie reached new opportunities. She frequented art supply stores and spent time with the proprietors and other customers. She developed a new strength: she had slowed down enough to listen and learn. She reflected on work she had done in the past with a coach. She kept herself open to people who saw her talent and held her accountable. Motivated by others who were doing what she enjoyed, she took new risks with her art. She entered art shows and started selling her art at house parties. She had done this with her jewelry. But this time a vision was coming into focus. Eventually she launched a Website for her brand, Diviacity.

Now Stephanie is making the meaningful art that she had always wanted to produce. She leads popular workshops and her multi-media educational materials are in development. One of her greatest joys is encouraging other artists. Today Stephanie is energized and her life is drama free. She is building her business with the support of others with creative energy. Stephanie is breaking through. See Stephanie's site at http://www.diviacity.com/

    Keys to Stephanie's Success
    • Vision: Stephanie wanted to live true to herself. She took a stand.
    • Use Moxie: She started with what she had. She removed what didn't serve her. She drew upon her past experiences of starting over to hold faith in herself. Then she followed her artist interests. She paid attention to what she enjoyed.
    • Re-direct Moxie: Stephanie committed herself to activities that motivated her. This shielded her from doubt. When she did get scared, she reached out and spent time with people who encouraged her. She created a safe life in which she could uncover her buried self.
    • Use Moxie to Make Moxie: Stephanie developed new moxie. She learned new ways to make choices in her relationships and commitments, she learned new networking skills, and she learned to learn by listening.

    Spring Cleaning

Well hello there. Spring cleaning time, and that means mental and otherwise. Among the chores I complete each spring is cleaning out the negative tidbits I've possibly picked up along my journey through life. This might be thoughts, habits and even (I hate to say it) people. While I do believe that some people cross our paths to continue on their journey and others cross it to tag along on your Journey, I also believe some people can overstay their welcome if you let them. You know, the negative ney sayers! Let it go! In the end it will only bring you pain and cause you to lose focus if you don't. It doesn't make you a bad person if you choose to pass certain people by, it just means you're following the natural path of nature. Imagine if everyone you ever came in contact with never left! Yikes!

So pick up the mental broom and sweep out the negative and open the window and let in the positive. Good energy and Great Journey!
