    BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN SISTER

    BY  Maya Angelou

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
that a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean livin''
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain..
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,

I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

EVEN SATAN KNOWNS WHEN TO BACK OFF

    HALLELUJAH !!

A man woke up early in order to have his morning devotion (prayer) in the lord's house (Church). He got dressed set on his way to the church. On his way to the church, the man fell and his clothes got dirty. He got up, brushed himself off, and headed home. At home, he changed his clothes, and was, again, on his way to the church. On his way, he fell again and at the same spot! He, again, got up, brushed himself off and headed home. At home he, once again, changed his cloths and was on his way to church. On his way to church, he met a man holding a lamp. He asked the man of his identity and the man replied 'I saw you fall twice on your way to the house of God, so I brought a lamp so I can light your way." The first man thanked him profusely and the two were on their way to the house of God. Once at the house of God, the first man asked the man with the lamp to come in and pray with him. The second man refused. The first man asked him a couple more times and, again, the answer was the same. The first man asked him why he did not wish to come in and pray. The man replied, "I am Satan". The man was shocked at this reply. Satan went on to explain, "I saw you on your way to the house of God and it was I who made you fall." When you went home, cleaned yourself and went back on your way to the house of God, God forgave all of your sins. I made you fall a second time, and even that did not encourage you to stay home, but rather, you went back on your way to Church. Because of that, God forgave all the sins of the people of your household. I was afraid if I made you fall one more time, then God will forgive the sins of the people of your village, so I made sure that you reached the house of God safely. So do not let Satan benefit from his actions. Do not put off the good you intended to do as you never know how much reward you might receive from the hardships you encounter while trying to achieve that good. Your righteousness can save your family and your nation. Do this and see the victory of the Lord.
    --
Lord, I thank you for all things new and Lord I pray that the New Things will begin in ME!

As with all of God's Word, we must look deeply into it to the underlying spiritual principle in order to understand God's profound wisdom in it. Psalm 111:10 declares, "The fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praises endures forever."
God's Word is always good and trustworthy. Therefore, don't pick and choose what commands you want to follow; instead, understand the wisdom of the whole counsel of God.

Allow adversity to call MY Faith to action rather than into question. Adversity reveals areas in which I need to act IN FAITH not fear. When hard times come, I will say to MYSELF, "Now is the time to use MY FAITH in a new way." The more I use MY Faith, the greater it grows.

    HALLELUJAH !!

    READY OR NOT

While Jesus was here in human form on earth, He promised that He would return again (Matthew 24:30; Mark 13:26; Luke 12:40; Luke 21:27; John 14:1-4; John 21:22-23). Also, Jesus said the same thing in the revelation which the apostle John received (Revelation 3:11; Revelation 22:7; Revelation 22:20). Not only did Jesus Himself speak these all important words of assurance that He will be returning, but many others in the Bible did as well (Daniel 7:13-14; Malachi 3:2; Acts 1:10-11; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 1 Timothy 6:12-16; Hebrews 9:27-28; James 5:7-8; 1 John 2:28; Revelation 1:7; Revelation 19:11-16).

And since then, God has been counting the days and years. Someday, it will be just the right time, and Jesus will, in effect, say, "Ready or not, here I come!" Or, because the Bible tells us that only God the Father knows the day and hour of Jesus' return (Matthew 24:36; Mark 13:32), it will actually be more like God saying, "Ready or not, I'm sending my Son back!" But you get the picture, anyway, right?

Now, the most important thing to remember about Jesus coming again is that it is not a game. It is real. If you are not ready when He returns, there will never be another chance to get ready--ever. Once Jesus returns, we will all (dead or alive) face the judgment (John 5:28-30). If you are ready, you will receive the reward of eternal life (Hebrews 9:27-28). If you are not ready, then you will be condemned to eternal punishment in Hell for all of eternity (Matthew 25:31-33; Matthew 25:46). And there are probably no words to adequately describe how horrible it will be for those who are not ready. Jesus gives us a brief description of the torment those who are not ready will face. Do the words "cut him to pieces" (Matthew 24:51), "weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 24:51; Matthew 25:30), and "throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness" (Matthew 25:30) mean anything to you? How about this description: "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." (Matthew 25:41)? Or this one: "they will go away to eternal punishment" (Matthew 25:46)?

Those are all words spoken by Jesus himself about just what will happen to those who are not ready when He returns. Jesus also told several parables to help us understand about being ready for his return. A few are: (1) the faithful and wise servant and the wicked servant (Matthew 24:45-51); (2) the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-13); (3) the talents (Matthew 25:14-30; Luke 19:12-27); (4) the sheep and goats (Matthew 25:31-46). Please take the time to read these very important teachings of Jesus.

Just what does it mean to be ready for Jesus' return? You must be sure that you are a true child of God. This means you must be born again. To be born again, the Bible tells us to do all of the following:

    (1) hear the Gospel (John 5:24; Acts 15:7; Romans 10:17; Revelation 3:20); (2) believe the Gospel (Mark 16:16; John 3:16-18; John 8:24; John 11:25-26; John 20:31; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10; Hebrews 11:6; 1 Peter 1:8-9); (3) repent of our sins (Luke 13:3-5; Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30; 2 Corinthians 7:10; 2 Peter 3:9); (4) confess in front of other people that Jesus is our Lord and Savior (Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9-10; 2 Timothy 2:19; 1 John 1:9); (5) be immersed in baptism for the forgiveness of our sins and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Peter 3:21); and (6) stand firm and live a faithful Christian life to the end (Matthew 10:22; Matthew 24:13; Mark 13:13; Luke 21:19; 1 Timothy 4:16; Hebrews 10:36; James 1:12).

So the question is this: Are you ready? If you are not ready, please get ready now. Jesus is coming back again someday (maybe a lot sooner than you might think) . . . whether you are ready or not.

    NEW LIFE

HOW CAN WE HAVE NEW LIFE NOW?
    BIBLE READING: Matthew 1:18-25
KEY BIBLE VERSE: She will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21)

THE HOPE OF NEW LIFE BEGINS WITH JESUS.

JESUS MEANS “THE LORD SAVES.” JESUS CAME TO EARTH TO SAVE US BECAUSE WE CAN’T SAVE OURSELVES FROM SIN AND ITS CONSEQUENCES. NO MATTER HOW GOOD WE ARE, WE CAN’T ELIMINATE THE SINFUL NATURE PRESENT IN ALL OF US. ONLY JESUS CAN DO THAT. JESUS DIDN’T COME TO HELP PEOPLE SAVE THEMSELVES; HE CAME TO BE THEIR SAVIOR FROM THE POWER AND PENALTY OF SIN. THANK CHRIST FOR HIS DEATH ON THE CROSS FOR YOUR SIN, AND THEN ASK HIM TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE. YOUR NEW LIFE BEGINS AT THAT MOMENT.
    BIBLE READING: Romans 6:1-14
KEY BIBLE VERSE: Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised as he was. (Romans 6:5)

THE HOPE OF NEW LIFE IS GUARANTEED BY JESUS’ RESURRECTION.
We can enjoy our new life in Christ because we are united with him in his death and resurrection. Our evil desires, our bondage to sin, and our love of sin died with him. Now, united by faith with him in his resurrection life, we have unbroken fellowship with God and freedom from sin’s hold on us. (For more on the difference between our new life in Christ and our old sinful nature, read Ephesians 4:21-24 and Colossians 3:3-15.)
    BIBLE READING: Colossians 2:6-23
KEY BIBLE VERSE: You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ. He forgave all our sins. He canceled the record that contained the charges against us. He took it and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ’s cross. (Colossians 2:13-14)

THE HOPE OF NEW LIFE IS FREEDOM FROM BONDAGE TO SIN.
Before we believed in Christ, our nature was evil. We disobeyed, rebelled, and ignored God (even at our best, we did not love him with all our heart, soul, and mind). The Christian, however, has a new nature. God has crucified the old, rebellious nature (Romans 6:6) and replaced it with a new, loving nature (3:9-10). The penalty of sin died with Christ on the cross. God has declared us not guilty, and we need no longer live under sin’s power. God does not take us out of the world or make us robots-we will still feel like sinning, and sometimes we will sin. The difference is that before we were saved, we were slaves to our sinful nature; but now we are free to live for Christ (see Galatians 2:20).

DOES YOUR CONGREGATION FIT THE BIBLICAL STANDARD?

If the world were a perfect place, and Christ's church was unified and behaved the way God intended, then finding a congregation wouldn't require any work or thought at all. For there would only be one congregation in each geographical location. However, we know the world is not a perfect place, and Satan has certainly taken his toll within the body of Christ. As a result, there are countless divisions within the church, and each Christian family must search for the congregation which comes the closest to fitting the biblical standard for the Christ's church. The following list itemizes some of the questions one should ask himself when searching for a "home" congregation or when trying to bring a congregation closer to the biblical standard:

    1. What "doctrine" does the congregation follow?
Is the Bible the congregation's sole basis for doctrine or has some man-made theology been slipped in? Is God's Word, in its entirety, the final authority on everything within the congregation? (Matthew 4:4; 1 Timothy 1:3-11; 1 Timothy 6:3-5; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 4:2-4)

    2. What leadership does the congregation have?
Is the biblical standard for leadership-evangelist, elders (also called pastors, shepherds or overseers) and deacons-being followed? Do the men in those positions truly meet all the requirements set forth in God's Word? Is the evangelist really evangelizing? Is it his top priority to seek and save the lost? Does he preach the whole truth and nothing but the truth? Do the elders truly have a desire to "shepherd the flock"? Do the elders teach? Do they set an example for all others? Are the deacons true servants within the body of Christ? Do these leaders manage their own families well? Do they attend all worship services, Bible classes, and other activities unless they have a valid reason not to? Is the congregation governed without favoritism? Are you willing to place yourself under the authority of these leaders? (Acts 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:1-12; 1 Timothy 5:21; 2 Timothy 2:23-26; 2 Timothy 4:1-5; Titus 1:5-9; Hebrews 13:7, 17; 1 Peter 5:1-4)

    3. Are the older women leading the younger women?
Are the elders' wives and other Godly, mature women the ones who lead the women's fellowship or Bible study group? Are the mature women sharing their wisdom in matters of marriage and child-rearing with their younger counterparts? Are the younger women able to go to these mature Christian women for counsel when they need it? Do the mature women assume the role of Sunday school teacher so that the younger women can have the opportunity to mature themselves? (Titus 2:3-5)

    4. Is biblical church discipline used when necessary?
Do the leaders and members use and support the use of discipline as set forth in the scriptures when it is needed? Is church discipline used in a consistent and fair manner and without favoritism, regardless of the offenders or the sins involved? Once church discipline is exercised and the offender has repented, do they also then welcome the repentant individual back into the congregation and give them the support needed? (Matthew 18:15-17; Luke 15:11-32; 1 Corinthians 5:9-13; 1 Corinthians 6:1-4; 2 Corinthians 2:5-11; Galatians 6:1; 1 Timothy 5:19-21)

    5. What sort of reputation does the congregation have?
Is the congregation (and its members) known in the local community for its Christ-like qualities? Or is the public aware of the congregation's "dirty laundry" and the bickering which goes on "inside"? Does the congregation set a good example within the community and make others want to come to Christ? (Matthew 5:16; 1 Corinthians 10:31-33; Ephesians 5:1-16; Colossians 4:5-6; 1 Peter 2:11-12)

    6. What is the purpose of the congregation?
Do all of the members know what the purpose of the congregation is? Is the purpose of the congregation in accordance with the church of the Bible? The purpose of the church, according to the Bible is five-fold:

To seek and save the lost (Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:15-18; Acts 8:4)
To magnify the Lord in worship and in deed (John 4:23-24; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Ephesians 5:1-2; Ephesians 5:17-21; Colossians 3:15-17)
To mature in Christ (Ephesians 4:7-16; Colossians 1:9; Colossians 2:6-7; Hebrews 5:11-6:3)
To minister and use one's talents and gifts in the service of the Lord (Acts 2:42-47; Acts 11:29-30; Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12; 1 Corinthians 14:12; Ephesians 4:7-13; Philippians 2:1-5; 1 Peter 4:7-11)
To fellowship together and encourage one another (Acts 2:42, 46-47; Hebrews 10:25)
Are all of the members in agreement and actively working toward the purpose? Are most of the congregation's funds being spent toward the purpose? Any division in this area makes a congregation ineffective, leaving it defenseless against Satan's attacks.

    7. Are the members seeking to be like Christ in all that they do?
Could an outsider tell by their daily lives that they are followers of Christ? Do others know that they can always depend on the members of this congregation to be honest and trustworthy? Do they strive to obey all civil laws? Do they spend their time and money in ways which would be pleasing to Christ? Do they treat their own families the way they should? (Matthew 5:16; Romans 12:1-2; Romans 13:1-7; 1 Corinthians 10:31-11:1; Ephesians 5:1-2; Ephesians 5:22-6:4; Colossians 3:18-25; Titus 3:1-2; 1 Peter 2:13-17)

    8. How do the members treat each other?
Do they truly care about one another? Do they encourage one another? Do they lend a helping hand when it's needed? Do they point out sin to a brother or sister in a loving manner so that repentance can be achieved? If a brother or sister is verbally attacked, do they come to their defense or do they join in with the attacker? Is there harmony within the congregation? (Galatians 5:22-6:2; Philippians 2:3-16; Colossians 3:12-17)

    9. Is the worship service designed for all members?
Is everyone welcome, regardless of their background? Is the "order of service" such that everyone can participate? Is it designed to suit one age, ethnic, or cultural group while ignoring another group or is an effort made to keep things balanced? Are the members mature enough to sing a few songs which might not be to their particular tastes so that others can be uplifted? (Acts 10:34-35; Galatians 3:26-29; Galatians 5:26; Colossians 3:16-17)

    10. Is everyone expected to serve?
Is every member encouraged to use his or her talents and spiritual gifts? Is everyone expected to serve in some way in order to build up the body of Christ? Do the leaders help individuals who might be confused about their place in the body of Christ? (Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12)

    11. Does the congregation help the needy?
When someone in need requests assistance, does the congregation strive to supply that need? Is the congregation prepared to meet most anticipated needs or are they "caught off-guard" when needs arise? (Proverbs 14:31; Matthew 10:40-42; Matthew 25:31-46; Hebrews 13:1-3)

    12. Are the activities designed to build up Christ's church?
Depending upon the size of the congregation, there may be mid-week Bible studies, men's fellowship groups, women's fellowship groups, youth fellowship groups, etc. on various weekdays. Are these all designed to bring those involved closer to Christ, or are they just social activities designed to keep people busy or entertained? (Ephesians 5:19-20; Colossians 3:16-17)

    13. Is the congregation sensitive to others or does it show favoritism?
Is everyone welcomed with the same enthusiasm, regardless of their background? Does the congregation care about those who might be different than they are? Is it sensitive to the individual who is widowed, divorced, a single parent, a child whose parents have divorced, or those who are "financially impaired"? Do any of the activities exclude someone who might like to attend? For example, is a Valentine's Day banquet held for couples only and exclude the widowed, divorced, and those who have chosen not to marry? Is there a Mother/Daughter banquet which leaves out a girl whose mother is deceased or a Father/Son banquet which leaves out a father who has four daughters but no son? Is there a youth trip planned which requires $20 per child so that the poor children in the congregation are unable to go? (Acts 6:1-6; 1 Timothy 5:21; James 2:1-13)

    14. What is the status of the youth?
The youth are tomorrow's church. Are they treated with that importance? Are there classes and activities designed to make them grow in Christ? Are arrangements always made for children when parents are expected to attend adult functions within the congregation? (Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Proverbs 22:6; Matthew 19:13-14; Mark 10:13-14; Luke 18:16; Ephesians 6:4)

    15. Is the congregation growing?
Is the number of members increasing? Do as many leave the congregation as join? When anyone leaves the congregation, does anyone notice or care? Do most express concern to those who leave? (Matthew 18:12-14; Luke 15:3-7; Acts 2:42-47; Acts 4:4; Acts 9:31)

The congregation of which one is a part is vital to one's spiritual life. As with the old saying, "You are the company you keep," the congregation you belong to affects every aspect of your life. Therefore, if you are searching for a congregation, take your time and choose very carefully, and even then things may not be what they seem. If you are already dedicated to a particular congregation which doesn't "measure up," make every effort, in prayer and in action, to bring it in line with God's standard for the church before seeking another home congregation

BLOG TALK RADIO LET"S SHOW SOME LOVE FOR BROTHER EVANGELIST KEITH WILSON

His computer has die, I talk to him today because I was wonder why none of my comments or messages or emails was not being answer then when I saw that he was not on Blog talk radio I knew something was wrong, I aske him could I post a blog letting his mychurch family know why they have not heard from him he told me to follow what ever the Lord put on my heart.

I am very excited about helping him get the messasge out God gave him and I belive in my heart that God will bless him through whatever it takes to get the message out to the lost and to teach and train up those who have a desire to do the work of the ministry.

I prayed about it, and I'm asking everyone to give a LOVE OFFERING so Evangelist keith can get back on mychurch and keep doing what God ordaine him to do teach Soulwinning to do this he needs a new computer, the one he has now let's him get on a few mins then shuts down to a blank screen, he has really not been able to do Blog talk radio, because it will shut down while he is on the air, but has his church family we can help, by giving a LOVE OFFERING.

    REAL FRIENDSHIP INVOLVES LOYALTY.
What kind of friend are you? There is a vast difference between knowing someone well and being a true friend. The greatest evidence of genuine friendship is loyalty ("always loyal,” see 1 Corinthians 13:7)-being available to help in times of distress or personal struggles. Too many people are fair-weather friends. They stick around when the friendship helps them and leave when they’re not getting anything out of the relationship. Think of your friends and assess your loyalty to them. Be the kind of true friend the Bible encourages.
    BIBLE READING: John 15:1-17
KEY BIBLE VERSE: I no longer call you servants, because a master doesn’t confide in his servants. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. (John 15:15)

    FRIENDSHIP, GOD’S WORD ON
How many friends do you have? Who are they? If you are typical, your friends range from casual acquaintances to those who would die for you. Sometimes friends are closer than brothers or sisters. Friends share affection, companionship, confidences, consideration, devotion, esteem, faithfulness, fellowship, harmony, helpfulness, loyalty, partnership, support, sympathy, trust, and understanding. Friends are special. Above all, God is our very best friend. His friendship is a role model for all other friendships.

Pray about it and if God lays it on your heart to give this is where you can send it.

    : Green Pasture

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
    (Matthew 28:19)

Summer 1986. The 1985 growing season here at Psalm 23 Camp was a great one for green pastures. We had a long grazing season with abundant pasture and hay – the best since we returned to the home farm in May 1982. Green pastures are a delight to the shepherd as well as his flock. Few things equal the pleasure of letting my sheep into a pasture that has lush green growth. Anytime I walk through a pasture, and my sheep sense that I am about to open the gate to let them enter a "green pasture", there is little that will stir their interest more as they come running and bleating toward the gate.

I must add that rotating sheep frequently to new pastures is a good soil and water conservation practice, and it provides the sheep with an excellent source of feed. The sheep can quickly obtain nourishment and spend more time lying quietly in the pasture. Without this type pasture the sheep must spend many hours daily in search of food, and each is continually in competition with other sheep for what little grass there is, plus they ingest large numbers of destructive parasites.

Jesus must surely be delighted to see members of His flock that are eager to come running to the gateway that leads to the green pastures He has for us. He will certainly lead us to green pastures if we will but follow.

You might ask, "Why not open all gates on the farm or ranch and let the sheep find all the green grass?” Nice thought, but it does not work well because given their own will the sheep pick favorite grazing spots such as areas near water, shade, and salt. Then overgraze these areas. This will eventually bring destruction to the land as well as the sheep. This happens as the sheep become parasite infested and the overgrazed land looses life-giving topsoil from erosion. Furthermore the ungrazed areas become a wasted resource; the land grows up in tall grass and woody plants (brush) that no longer convert plants into food and fiber for man.

If you and I try to graze without guidance from the Good Shepherd, we will bring destruction to ourselves and to others who we lead astray. Furthermore we will waste God's resources. Would you rather graze near the shade (that comfortable pew located in an air-conditioned building), salt (that inspirational message your pastor gives each Sunday), and water (the fellowship with friends each week); or, would you answer the call of Jesus when He said, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." (Matt:28:19)

Be assured, I am not condemning comfortable church buildings, Christian fellowship, and "good preachin'" when put in proper perspective. Some of the best grassland we have here at Psalm 23 is near water and shade. However, I plan to put some temporary electric fence around one magnificent sugar maple tree that has a stream nearby. At times last summer I saw more than two hundred sheep under the shade of that one tree. They not only damaged the grass under the tree and deposited the valuable fertilizer where it will not be used; they over grazed the grass near the tree and failed to harvest the distant pasture. Consider these facts; less than two percent of Christians' income is given to Christian causes, and of the total given only one-half percent goes to global missions. It's obvious that professing Christians spend too much time around the watering hole and favorite shade tree.
