Aricia graduated from the University of Wisconsin with her Master of Science Degree in Educational Psychology. She is certified as a life coach through the Institute for Life Coach Training. She continues to pursue her education through individual study, workshops and classes. During her education, Aricia worked with the most challenging kids in the system -- very young, very violent offenders and their families. Later, she started a non-profit to help teen mothers on probation and her program to help teens and mothers locked in violent relationships -- co-created with the juvenile justice system -- has become a national model. She created a mentoring center (named "The Place" by the teens who helped create it) following Columbine for which she was named a 7 Everyday Hero by Denver's ABC affiliate, KMGH. Her work with teens was featured on Good Life Television and in Family Circle, Mothering Magazine and The Chronicle of Philanthropy. Visitors from around the nation and the world came to share and learn at The Place. The Place became the template for other mentoring centers around the globe. Her work helping families get organized has been featured in USA Today and MSNBC and she has been a guest on NPR. She has written monthly columns on families and parenting for local papers and has been a guest on KOSI radio as well as on KMGH TV in Denver. She worked as a therapist for ten years, helping families and eventually specializing in adolescent addictions counseling prior to starting her non-profit organization to help children and families. In 2004, she completed her training in professional coaching and opened Dynamic Family Coaching Solutions, LLC.
