Shared Sacrifice Weekend--Melissa Sue Robinson

Melissa Sue Robinson is our guest today. Ms. Robinson is running for Mayor of Nampa, ID in the November 2009 general election. She is a progressive and running because she feels that Nampa is a city that needs progressive people in city government. With many years of political and business experience, her desire is to give back to society by bringing her experience to government. She is 58 years and holds a B.A. in Humanities from Michigan State University and attended graduate school at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids. Ms. Robinson is former owner of Design Masters Construction Co, Inc. (a 25 employee small business formerly based in Michigan) of which she was President for 10 years. While it not a theme of her campaign, Ms. Robinson is transgendered. She will join us to discuss her positions and the challenges facing a transgendered candidate in Idaho.
