Michael Weaver Joins BlogTalkRadio as Vice President of Mobile Strategy

Former Director at Microsoft and Vice President of Crisp Wireless Brings Over a Decade of Mobile Experience to the Network

New York, NY,  May 21, 2009 – BlogTalkRadio, a rapidly-emerging broadcast medium, today announced that Michael Weaver has joined its team as the Vice President of Mobile Service and Strategy.

In this position, Weaver will focus on BlogTalkRadio’s mobile initiatives and their integration into current offerings. Specifically, Weaver will be responsible for the development and promotion of BlogTalkRadio iPhone apps; CinchCast, the company’s newest product; and m.blogtalkradio.com, the company’s mobile site. Weaver and his team will work closely with carriers, portals, brands, advertisers, and agencies as he builds BlogTalkRadio’s mobile presence.

“Michael is a prominent authority and one of the most sought-after individuals in the mobile industry,” said Alan Levy, CEO of BlogTalkRadio. “He has had his finger on the pulse of mobile since its inception.”

Having worked for over a decade in advertising for the technology sector, Weaver has spent the last several years making himself known in the ever popular and growing mobile sector. As Vice President of Strategy at Crisp Wireless, Weaver developed key relationships with mobile operators as well as advertising agencies and enablers. In his prior role as Microsoft’s Advertising Strategy Director for MSN’s Digital Advertising Solutions, he played a key role in Microsoft’s acquisition of ScreenTonic, a European-based mobile advertising company.

“BlogTalkRadio has been on my radar for some time now and I am thrilled to be a part of it,” said Weaver. “The BlogTalkRadio concept is easily adaptable to mobile and will allow the company to extend its reach into a rapidly growing sector that offers users the convenience of listening to their favorite BlogTalkRadio shows on the go.”

Weaver recently saw the mobile advertising company he founded and created, Third Screen Media, acquired by AOL. He frequently lends his voice to various trade magazines such as Mobile Marketer and Media Post and to industry events like the Consumer Electronics Show and The Direct Marketing Days. Weaver serves on the boards of several early-stage technology companies.
