Poetry is For People - an internet radio talk show produced by Sundown Media Concepts LLC. and Kevin Goodman featuring host Michael C Flanigan. Michael has published nine volumes of poetry was a student of Charles Olson and Jack Clark and former Artist in Residence at State University College in Buffalo from 1969 to 1972. Michael has conducted hundreds of workshops and he has befriended or known many twentieth century poets. We’ll discuss poets, poems, and general poetics from the contemporary age.

Several months ago I severed my partnership with Michael C Flanigan as his agent and publicist. I have been slow to address the situation - In part because it presents me with an ethical dilemma.
I believe Michael breeched an agreement and I believe he sacrificed an ethic. Because he doesn’t have the ability to convey his own side of the story I’ll leave it at that. The breakup of this promotional endeavor has been hard for me because it represented a greater entrepreneur and academic project. I have a lot of work ahead of me in repairing a fragmented brand image, my own image, and restructuring a business plan. Most of this work is being done off line so that when it goes back online we’ll already be out of the sandbox and have a significant platform to work from.
I financed this project and contributed hundreds if not thousands of hours to it.
But I want to be clear that this is between Michael and me. This has nothing to do with the letters attacking Michaels character. That person could have expected me to be reasonable if they were themselves, identified themselves, and approached me with their concerns as a person rather than a troll. I have no appreciation for those anonymous letters. To Michael’s justice I want to be clear that those letters have no weight in my decision to no longer represent him.
There is another story and if Michael succeeds as a public persona I will share it.
This site will be cleared as I come closer to relaunching a renewed and improved project. Kevin Goodman

Another episode of the most interesting broadcast on poetry today with host Michael Flanigan. Tonight on Jack Kerouac.
Date / Time: 9/9/2008 3:40 PM UTC
I want to thank our listeners for subscribing and checking in. Michael has recently had dental work and is recovering from soreness. We’ll be back on this week at our standard time. Because the majority of our listeners download our shows later rather than listen live we’re exploring different options in production. Another project we’re working on is the ‘audio journal’. Michael will be placing a ‘call for submissions’ in some of the top journals in the near future. Invariably we predict the p4p program will consist of a regular weekly podcast (rather than live show) with Michael as a host, a live show each month with an extended duration (1 and a half hours), and a collaborative CD distributed through Amazon and other retailers. Change is comming. Tune in! Kevin

Let me first begin by saying that we have enjoyed doing the Poetry is for People Talk show. There will be a couple of weeks break in the program. I cannot yet give a definite date but I ask that you subscribe to the RSS or check back regularly because we will be back.
We have three big announcements that directly relate to the break.
1. We have negotiated a reprint for several of Michael’s manuscripts. I can say with certainty that in the next ten weeks you’ll be able to buy Michael C Flanigan’s book at booksellers everywhere. The book will be a compilation of three previously published books-booklets plus some new material. I believe this book will have ‘Summers Cabin’, ‘Visions America’, and ‘The Town and the Carnival’, but this is an informal announcement and these contents may not be wholly accurate. We also have a CD in production.
2. In October Michael’s poetry will be featured in Art-to-Art Palette. This is a wonderful and very high quality magazine that we recommend to anybody who loves the arts and literature. Visit the Palette at http://www.arttoartpalette.com/
3. Both Michael’s book and ‘Poetry is for people’ are going to be promoted in some of the nation’s most prestigious literary magazines in coming months. This ultimately means we’re working to advance the Poetry is for People show concept. We’re going to remain at blogtalkradio but expect ‘Poetry is for People’ to be a little more than radio talk. Kevin
