Frank Morton is a plant breeder and seed developer in the Willamette Valley in Oregon.

He is a plantiff in a landmark case brought against a USDA regulatory agency in an attempt to thwart deregulatory efforts which would allow Monsanto's genetically modified sugar beets into one of the most fertile and active seed producing areas on the planet.

Food Freedom speaks with Frank a couple days before his case goes back into US district court to talk about the importance of pure seed development and the impending dangers of introducing GMO's into these vital food and seed crops.

In Part 2, Frank Morton continues the discussion, covering the topics of:
  • The issues of cross pollination of GMO crops with Organic and pure strain seed crops.
  • Further insights into the lawsuit with the USDA.
  • Monsanto's self testing of it's products and the legal restrictions.
  • The conflict with agricultural schools concerned about losing department funding from bio-tech companies if they published research against GMO's.
  • How seeds and crops may have GMO content and still sell as Organic.
  • The issues with establishing "acceptable levels" for GMO content in non GMO crops.
  • Monsanto's plans for expanding use of their crops in the Willamette Valley.
  • How seed companies and foreign companies don't want GMO and the issues in delivering pure seeds.
  • Why the US government, growers, and consumers are allowing the expansion of GMO crops.
  • The rotation of high level biotech company personnel among key US Government positions.
