Businessman Curtis Coleman, CEO of Arkansas-based Safe Foods Corporation, announced his official candidacy last Wednesday for the U.S. Senate as a Republican. Coleman had earlier formed a Senate Exploratory Committee back in May, deciding to challenge Blanche Lincoln's Senate seat because of the egregious erosion of personal liberties facing this country due to the current liberal-controlled Congress. Coleman says that through his business, which is making food safer on 4 continents across the globe, he has been personally engaged in over 30 international markets and dozens of bureaucratic regulatory agencies both foreign and domestic. Coleman was awarded the Arkansas Entrepreneur of the Year in 2005 at the Clinton Library. Coleman describes himself as a Conservative first and foremost. He has always been pro-life, a defender of the Constitution, traditional marriage, and the Second Amendment, and an opponent of embryonic stem cell research. Coleman declares that the out-of-control spending by our national government is the number one issue facing the country, and that our increasing debt is an urgent crisis of national security. The proposed healthcare legislation in Congress would only exacerbate the problem, not to mention completely destroy the healthcare system in America as we know it. This election will not be Coleman's first political experience. He served as campaign manager for Mike Huckabee's U.S. Senate campaign in 1992. Our Federal government is not a group of elected officials in Washington D.C.; rather it is the entirety of our citizenry.The people of Nevada, like many across our great nation, are angered that Nevada’s elected officials are no longer representing the interests and values of our State.Even worse; their agenda is driving our nation down a path of collectivism and implementing socialistic programs that threaten to destroy the very foundation of our country. Tonight ARC4L CO-Regional Coordinators Rob Richard and Mark Phillips of Region 2 will be talking about the unconstitutional NLE 09. According to the FEMA website, National Level Exercise 2009 (NLE 09) is scheduled for July 27 through July 31, 2009. NLE 09 will be the first major exercise conducted by the United States government that will focus exclusively on terrorism prevention and protection, as opposed to incident response and recovery. Through a comprehensive evaluation process, the exercise will assess prevention and protection capabilities both nationally and regionally. Although NLE 09 is still in the planning stages, the exercise is currently designed to validate the following capabilities: Intelligence/Information Sharing and Dissemination Counter-Terrorism Investigation and Law Enforcement Air, Border and Maritime Security Critical Infrastructure Protection Public and Private Sector Alert/Notification and Security Advisories International Coordination. FEMA Region VI, which includes the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. This year the United States welcomes the participation of Australia, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom in NLE 09.

Whitney Davis, the hard working Faulkner County Coordinator for the Arkansas Campaign for Liberty tells us about her recent trip to Las Vegas, NV and the C4L Regional Conference. Whitney will be attending the University of Arkansas as a Freshman this fall with her majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in International Business. Whitney is a not only a great person to be around, but one of the hardest workers we have here in Arkansas. Her dedication to the cause of liberty is certainly appreciated.

Walter Reddy has been a Constitutional Activist since 1970. Starting in 1970, he succeeded in collecting petitions which called for a Constitutional amendment, giving 18 year old's the right to vote, the 26th Amendment. In 1994, he collaborated with a group of 10 Constitutional activists that lobbied Hawaii legislators and got them to introduce and pass a 10th Amendment resolution. Within 2 years, more than 22 States followed with similar legislation. Also in 1994, Walter and other patriots converged on the Philadelphia, PA State Capital and successfully lobbied State legislators to stop the calling for a Constitutional Convention that would seek to replace the U.S. constitution with a U.N."New States Constitution".
