    The March 28th edition of Eco-Alert featured an interview with Marsha Colbert, Aquatic Preserve Manager, Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserves. Marsha talked about the importance of protecting the mangrove areas in shallow water.

    Nadine's guest today was Gigi Pomerantz, founder of Youth Haiti, an environmental organization based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Focused on sanitation, Gigi talked about the statistical fact that 84% of the people in rural Haiti do not have access to clean water or any type of sanitation system. She is trying to find financial support to develop a series of demonstration sites in Haiti that would take human waste and turn it into compost.
