Monday to Friday's "Stop Child Abuse Now" (SCAN) and Sunday's "Community Matters" This Week feature Bill Murray, the nationally respected public safety and child abuse prevention, intervention and recovery advocate. Bill is founder of the National Association of Adult Survivors of Child Abuse (NAASCA), a 501(c)3. Originally he was best known for Los Angeles Community Policing (LACP), his reaction to the events of 9-11-2001. Bill's web site (LACP.org) has been continuously published since early 2002, and is the world's largest grassroots nonprofit effort devoted to community-based policing. In 2009, Bill launched the National Association of Adult Survivors of Child Abuse (NAASCA.org) as a grassroots effort, one based on his personal life experienced. "Very few adults escape years of severe childhood sexual abuse, pre-pubescent X-rated photography, sex trafficking, and a two week long kidnapping," Bill writes. "But I have, and for some 35 years I've been in recovery from its devastating effects. Once my parents were gone, I decided to devote my remaining time, money and available energy to this vitally important cause." After years of operating as a grassroots, all volunteer effort, and with over 2500 BlogTalkRadio shows in the ever-growing library, NAASCA became a public charity .. a 501(c)3 .. where the single purpose is to address issues related to childhood abuse and trauma including sexual assault, violent or physical abuse, emotional traumas and neglect from two specific perspectives: 1) educating the public, and 2) offering hope for healing and services to adult survivors. Join our hosts six-nights-a-week (all but Saturday), at 8pm EST (7pm CEN, 6pm MTN, 5pm PAC) for solution oriented discussions about the many issues of child abuse and trauma. These shows always include panel discussions, LIVE chat rooms, and frequent call-in participation.

Upcoming Broadcasts

Q & A call-in discussion with a survivor-professional, using an OPEN MIKE forum. We'll feature a survivor-professional co-host who'll field topics brought to the episode by you, the listener. ~~ Tonight the special guest, Felicia L Reed, is a trauma-informed Recovery Coach who suffered the entire spectrum of abuses from the age of 5 to 51. That was the point when she started a healing and recovery process. That learning and using coaching and self-healing techniques saved her life. Felicia founded Put It In Perspective where she currently works to teach these tools to groups and individuals. In addition, she has worked in community service programs as a key volunteer and activist for youth and women, and serves on cyber awareness forums that promote online safety. ~~ On these episodes we welcome various co-hosts, survivor-professionals who'll assist in fielding questions and lead a variety of topics suggested by our call-in participants. Their trauma-informed perspectives as survivor-professionals will help them guide discussions on the issues of child abuse, trauma and healthy human sexuality that spring from questions and topics brought to us by our listeners. ~~ Everyone's invited to engage on tonight's show, on the phone or in our show's community chat room. ~~ Please visit the NAASCA.org web site.
