March of Liberty Radio

March of Liberty and Hear My Thunder social community are dedicated to views from a Constitutional perspective. The thunder is that grassroots sound we hear surrounding key areas impacting our daily lives. There are countless people who are fighting for their causes and clinging to the remains of an unprecedented experiment. The experiment was first brought to life over 220 years ago by 55 enlightened men and the results of their thunder are truly inspirational. Their experiment, the Federalist Republic, must be revived and the radio shows presented here will be but a humble attempt to shine the light on our world from a U.S. Constitutional perspective while continuing the march of liberty. Dwight D. Eisenhower reminded us all, "Freedom has its life in the hearts, actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die." Join us in our broadcasts as we attempt to offer our efforts to earn and refresh liberty.

Show Notes

Our Sunday show (7pm EST) has guests and discussions with a focus on the original intent of our founding. It is an interactive discussion with the goal of education through conversation which leads us to more educated action. We support constitutional study and debate while not endorsing any particular party. All who care to share should bring friends and family together for a weekly discussion that strives to better enlighten us all. We will discuss current events and we do have spirited debate yet we focus on mutual respect while avoiding argumentative labeling and name calling. Refresh your mind and help refresh our minds as well. Make it a weekly scheduled event and we'll see you on the radio!

    The Perfect Storm

    First, let me apologize to any chatters this week as I could not see the chat room beyond my own name. It wasn't until after the show I learned there were chatters, you're important and I like interacting with you during the show. I wasn't trying to ignore you for sure, Gary.

    OK - This week's show stems from conversation that came up during 'Dangerous Democracy' because it is vital we talk about it. We're calling this part one simply because there is more to cover than any one show can so we'll be visiting the topic often.  "The Perfect Storm" references what we are seeing happening across the country and the globe today.  There are critical signs pointing to severe changes that will alter how we live, the very thought of "normal daily life."  Areas we will look at this week, to begin this series;

    Money - Federal Reserve reports on disappearing reserves from banks, the collapse of the dollar, paper money that's in real trouble.

    Food - Despite the Congress just granting another $30 billion in subsidies to corporate farmers (we know the small farmer gets almost none of the subsidy program money) for NOT growing food we are seeing a looming food shortage on the horizon.

    Oil - Despite having oil within our borders the crisis is continuing to build.

    All of these areas and more are interconnected and The Perfect Storm is what we will experience when those in charge will no longer be able to balance these items to avoid severe crashes.  Like the old spinning plate routine too many are spinning and appear to be ready to fall.  When they begin crashing at the same time what will we be faced with?  Please bring your thoughts and insights as we are FAR from experts in these areas but we know it is vital we all discuss them and get them out in the open.

    Special note:
      June 15th, 7pm EST, our guest will be Spartacus Jones.  You've heard some of his music on our show and we've adopted his "Give Me Liberty" song as our opening theme.  You won't want to miss this fun show.

    We'll see you on the radio.

    Dangerous Democracy

    We'll look at the difference between representative democracy vs. our form of limited democracy as developed by our founders. Is there a difference? What benefits does our original form of democracy have over representative democracy? Why is one more effective than the other? We'll be using the May 19th Downsizer Dispatch, from DownsizeDC.org, as our foundational document for this discussion. You can read the dispatch at; http://libertyshaven.com/groups/orca/?action=goto&topic_id=25
