Love Shouldnt Hurt  

The biggest step as a victim is deciding you've had enough and leaving your abuser. The slowest process is healing. We will be discussing the healing process and ways you mend the pieces back together after you've left your abuser. We anticipate having a guest speaker, just awaiting final say. Please join us, it will definitely be something you won't want to miss.

Love Shouldn't Hurt is a Domestic Violence Support Network. It was started by victims for victims. We are currently hosting a support forum as well as debuting our new online talk show..Love Shouldn't Hurt. We hope users will listen in, and show support for Domestic Violence Awareness. Our mission is to Support, Encourage, & Empower women. We want to bring back their self worth and self confidence. We hope to reach out to domestic violence victims, survivors, and domestic violence awareness supporters. Love Shouldn't Hurt was started by my mom, my younger sister and me. We are survivors. My mom is the reason my sister and I are still alive. She has lived it and left it and we want to help others to do the same. Our saying in our forum is: "We've got your back."

Well, it's official! 18 hours and counting down until our debut on BlogTalkRadio.  We are very excited about this!

We aim to be so much more than just an online talk show. We know we can reach out and help women that want it and need it. Love Shouldn't Hurt was started by victims for victims and there is no better place to be than safe with those that know what you are going through.

Victims of domestic violence have lost all self worth and self confidence. They have been put in such a frame of mind by their abusers that they ultimately become brainwashed to think there is no way out.  This couldn't be farther from the truth, but until you are able to see the way, you continue to believe that your life is always going to be full of violence, hate, control and such. That is where we come in. My mom, sister, and I started Love Shouldn't Hurt because we know that it does. We know that it happens (silently) in the house next door. Because we were "the house next door." We know what it feels like to go to work the next day or school and want to scream to the world that your boyfriend, husband, fiancee, dad, uncle etc.. thinks that hitting and abusing women is okay. Being away from your abuser should give you such a voice, but it never comes out. You are ashamed and embarrassed. Maybe you feel that it's your fault and this is your punishment for something you did. We're here to tell you, IT'S NOT! It is NEVER going to be okay, it is NEVER going to be right and it will NEVER be your fault. We started Love Shouldn't Hurt to educate, support, and empower women. We want to bring back their self-worth and their self-confidence. We want to be the light at the end of the tunnel for them.

We started out just with a support forum. http://loveshouldnthurt.freeforums.org (hoping to get our own domain name soon). We are up to 26 members. We are hoping to expand and be able to reach out to women all over the US.

When we learned about BlogTalkRadio, we knew this would be just one more stepping stone to be heard. We knew we could have a voice and that is exactly what is going to happen starting 7.1.09...our voice will be heard. We are going to be taking callers, sharing stories, giving advice, offering hope, help and support. We want to educate people on domestic violence, talk about the effects it has on your kids...the list goes on and on. We have high hopes of reaching out. You (our listening audience) will be the ones to make this happen. We will be having guest speakers on often. But we realize we would really be nothing without you.
