Great show. History of Rock and Roll songs and artists. All original songs, no enhanced or updated versions. Very rare songs and hard to get information. Keep up the good works Lee.

Lee Douglas

Oldtime Rock n Roll has become the largest and most popular Oldies show internationally. Listeners from as far away as Australia tune in every week to hear the hits, the remembrances and some of the more obscure and largely forgotten songs of the 50's and 60's.The cornerstone of the show is Lee still takes requests and dedications from his listeners and challenges listeners to request a song he does not have. Lee Douglas is a veteran of TV and Internet radio. He has been doing television since 1980 when he produced a live local children's television show for 5 years. He has been in Internet radio since 2001 when he began Wrestling Wrap a weekly live talk show. The Wrap is still going strong after 7 years but is now heard monthly. His main show Oldtime Rock n Roll is one of the most popular oldies show world-wide. His oldies shows which are actually only one of the few legal music shows being duly licensed by BMI and ASCAP.He researches each artist and calls on his memories to build a picture of the bygone days of rock n roll, when as he puts it, the biggest problem we had was getting a date for Saturday night.

Oldtime Rock n Roll Rocks on

Another month is about to end. Old time Rock n Roll is regaining much of it's audience. The fools over at "Talkshoe" have lost a big part of their team. Now my task is to find and bring back the 25,000 monthly listeners to our new home at Blogtalkradio.
I have set out a massive ad campaign to attract new and forner listeners. This has been a long and difficult journey. It was like working for a month and then being told by your employer he wasn't going to pay you for the month you worked! That by the way is exactly what happened.
Working as hard as I do to keep oldtime rock n roll fresh is not easy but with a library busting out of over 40,000 songs, it was a big shock. One I am not yet over. I have only to look at my checkbook.
I promise my listeners. I will continue to strive for excellence in my shows and to keep them up to date. As always I answer every single e mail within three hours. There are two exceptions: 1) If I am out of computer communication range. 2) Any help me I am from Africa I have 25 million dollars to share with you e mails. (I get 100 a week)
This week we have the pleasure to interview Rockabilly legend Huelyn Duvall.
He joins a growing list of former stars like Charlie Gracie, The Elegants and Arlene Smith of the Chantells.
Look for new blog posts every week from now on.
    Thanks for listening

State of the Rock : July

Well here we are in month two with BTR. Our listeners are still lurking at the other sites. In fact without any fanfare 24,000 listeners went  to another site and downloaded our shows. I am trying to bring them into BTR now.
This has not been an easy transition. I have some special interviews lined up, but I am waiting until all or most of our listeners are here.

Another hurdle I need to overcome is how to separate the four shows I do. Since on BTR they are all lumped together under my profile.

I will be producing two new shows a week and try to sneak in some of the best of the 145 shows in my archives, which will never make it to BTR. Also we are going to be part of a college course in Pennsylvania within the next few weeks. I get to go back to teaching.....  Right here on BTR. should be fun. I will add another post as soon as the dates are set.
