This morning after shortly awakening I found myself peering through the blinds as the trees swayed back and forth with such elegance; it was if nature was making a mark as "poetry in motion". The howling of the wind through the crevices in the window made this melodic sequence of notes and sounds; it was beautiful as well as breath-taking as the green of the leaves sync with the "sound of life". This brought my mind and spirit to my experience of last night. I was able to partake of something that was as phenomenal as well as artistic quintessential "evolution of a band". It was back in the summer of 2005 that I last witness the musical experience of "The Band" Mint Condition. If you are not familiar with who they are just let me give you the title of one of their most well known songs-"Pretty Brown Eyes". Ahh.....now you remember don't you? Anyways....I attended their performance at the Palladium last night. It was definitely a party not to be forgotten. This band has so evolved since 2005. It is obvious that the individuals have grown as artists singularly as well as a group. The lead of the "front-man Stokley was "bananas" he has really fine tuned and honed his art that he himself has become a well oiled instrument. A well oiled instrument that is giving and brilliant enough to equip himself with portals of attachments that seem to effortlessly receive any appendage of artistry whether it be his lead guitarist ( O'dell) or the bassist (Mr. Kinchen) and even others from other bands. This versatility is the initiator of the greatness that this band holds. It does not end there because the sound backing of the percussions by the one and only Chris "Daddy" Dave out of Houston is a magnificent! His skills as breathtaking! I It is very nice to see him in the fold once again he was solely missed as his hiatus brought about our thirst that has now just begun to be quenched. Thank you Lord! The toying and taunting duet between him and Stokley (the front-man) on the drumming duel in mid-point of last night's performance was "electrifying"! I was almost quietly taken to orgasmic heights. Truly! Stokley on drums is always "erotic". The performance continued with a sax solo by Jeff. I was blown away by his performance. He has really created a very sensual connection with his sax it was very "sexy". His work is wonderful! And finally there is Lawrence on the "Fender Rhodes"; he is the quiet and studious spirit of the band. You would hardly notice of him if it were not for the impeccable skills he places on the keys. I almost thought that I wanted to grow some wings and fly when he they played "What kind of man would I be". His hands are "heavenly"! The night continued as they began to expand and unfold more of their abilities and craft they graciously wowed us attending with their ability to cross over genres; lightly landing us in some flavors of "rock" with cuts off their latest cd "Living the Luxury Brown" with "Its hard" and "One Wish". Wow! I love strings so I was being tantalized! Yes tantalized! Look it up! By the third and final leg of the performance I was too through! It was very satisfying! It reminded me of this experience with this "masseuse" once. His skills were so excellent that I was begging him to please stop! So I leaned over to my daughter-in-law and whispered that we must begin to leave before the crowd floods the exit; little did she know I was just over stimulated. I needed some air! She responded and said aren't they going to sing "Pretty Brown Eyes"? I was like "damn"...in my mind! I said I don't think so knowing damn well they wouldn't leave without doing it. But to my surprise they exited the stage all but one member O'dell. He stood as the crowd begged for "Pretty Brown eyes Breaking my heart". Until the guys came rushing back....I was so weak in the knees by this point. But I played it cool! Anyone who knows me; knows I am anti-social and experiencing such eroticism publicly was a challenge. "I am a professional though!" They began an interlude into the request and the rest is a blur to me.;)
