    Date / Time:

Fretboard Journal Talk Radio show tomorrow - April 10

Tomorrow's show will have a bit of a theme (we're getting the hang of this radio thing, right?). We'll start by interviewing guitarist / law professor John Thomas about the recent bust of a woman who was selling real tortoiseshell picks to musicians. Some guitarists still swear by these picks from days gone by, even though it's against the law to sell them or manufacturer them today. We'll also talk to John a bit about how the CITES treaty has affected the collecting and transportation of old guitars, mandolins and banjos.

The second half of the show will feature acclaimed luthier Rick Turner. Over the last few years, Turner has focused some of his attention on finding locally grown, sustainable woods from which to build guitars and ukuleles. We'll hear about some of the challenges involved in using this source material and some of the sonic (not to mention karmic) rewards.

And, we'll have our first giveway... so tune in!
