    Leap of Faith - Her Journey through Cancer

    Upon learning she had cancer, she responded to the Doctor, “Oh but I can’t, I have little kids.” Moved to tears by my complete denial he replied, “I need you to walk across the parking lot and admit yourself to the Emergency Room, right now.” In 2000 I was 28 years old, I had just finished my Masters Degree in Counseling and was a happy Mom to a 1 year old girl and 2 year old boy. After spending much of my New Years vacation in bed and still not feeling better I made a trip to my family doctor. Upon finding me short of breath after the short trip to the weigh scale she decided to do a chest x-ray and have me bring it to her the next day. Her words were "I'm sorry sweety, it doesn't look good" as she looked at the large tumor on my x-ray.
