My cell phone Battery died so I didn't get to call. But Moses answereed my question just fine last night. I kind of wanted some clarification on what he had said in the show before that. Cause it sounded like that only Native Americans can perserve the culture. I know different but Im sure there were others out there who probably thought the same way about that comment from the previous show. So Moses answered the question. He's a great man and great friend.

INTERVIEW BY DEEPAK CHOPRA WITH HANK WESSELMAN PHD. Originally posted on Deepak Chopra's site www.howtoknowgod.com in March, 2001. Research paleoanthropologist Hank Wesselman, PhD is one of those rare cutting edge scientists who truly walks between the worlds. He did his undergraduate work, as well as his Masters Degree, in Zoology at the University of Colorado at Boulder, then went on to receive his doctoral degree in Anthropology from the University of California at Berkeley. For the past 30 years, he has worked with an international group of scientists, exploring East Africa's Great Rift Valley in search of answers to the mystery of human origins. He is also a shaman in training, now in the 19th year of his apprenticeship... COULD YOU TELL US ABOUT THE KIND OF WORK IN WHICH YOU ARE CURRENTLY ENGAGED AS AN ANTHROPOLOGIST? Since 1994, I have been working with a research expedition along the Middle Awash River in northern Ethiopia where our team is excavating a series of sites between 4.4 and 5.8 million years old from which we are recovering the fossilized remains of an early form of human called Ardipithecus ramidus. This species preserves a suite of primitive characters unlike any seen before. Not only have we found humanity's earliest ancestor, we may also have discovered the famous missing link between apes and humans that Charles Darwin predicted would eventually be found. To say that this is an exciting discovery is an understatement of vast proportions. JUST HOW DID YOUR WORK AS A SCIENTIST LEAD TO THE WRITING OF YOUR BOOKS--FIRST SPIRITWALKER, THEN MEDICINEMAKER, AND NOW VISIONSEEKER? In the early 1970s, while working with an expedition in southern Ethiopia's Lower Omo Valley, I began to have spontaneous mystical experiences strikingly like those of traditional shamans. In an attempt to understand, I went beyond scholarly research into direct, personal contact with the ancient methods for achieving mystical states practiced by tribal peoples. In the

A journey that began with a search for heritage and ancestry became an exploration of family long gone. Rich with conflict, sacrifice and death; filled with hope and resolve, the journey resulted in an understanding and respect for Comanche legacy and pride – Apryl Allen’s birthright. Respect for her ancestors and their way of life is integral to the real-life stories relayed herein; it is supported by documents and oral history from family elders. Her lyrics and melodies are touchstones for relating life altering events of her family’s past. This process has been as much a right of passage as a musical endeavor. Apryl is respectful yet forthright in her assessments, she is proud to be part of such a legacy and honors it in the best way she can, through her music. With a passion for words and music, Apryl Allen has created songs that come from life. Lyrics and melodies that reflect emotions and experiences shared by many. Connecting to her music is as easy as breathing; she has the gift of capturing the abstract and conveying it with evocative lyrics. Apryl transports you to places of thoughtfulness and insight. Her lyrics transcend the ordinary but are based in the commonplace. Through her Comanche heritage she relates to life experiences, feelings and emotions with a focus that is both introspective and forthright; her songs come straight from the heart.

Medical Alert I received a disturbing call from Leonard today. As we know, Leonard has had a scare with prostate cancer. He is now having blood in his urine and he desperately needs to have an oncologist examine him. A general practitioner operating in the prison system is not sufficient; he needs to be seen by a specialist. Your support with letters and phone calls to the proper officials is greatly needed at this time. The urgency is due to his previous scare of cancer. Only a specialist can determine the state of his health. According to his medical he is supposed to receive an exam every three months, but according to Leonard he has only been seen once a year. How can this be? As everyone knows one examination can give you warning, anyone who has had a prognosis or scare with prostate cancer, you need to see an oncologist and be examined regularly. He has never received proper medical attentions for his medical problems, unless this problem is addressed by his supporters he will not get this matter taken care of. As we found when he did not have his diabetic supplies last year, until the outcry was so great. Then they could not deny him. Please ask the warden at Lewisburg Prison to give Leonard Peltier the proper medical attention he has the right to. Tim freelance writer. My current novel, "Murder of an American Nazi," is for sale on amazon.com, barnesand noble.com, and my publisher website. To read more about me and the book, visit eloquentbooks.com/MurderOfAnAmericanNazi. Brief synopsis of Murder Of An American Nazi: At the end of World War II the CIA, through a program called Operation Paperclip, evacuates Nazi scientists, doctors, and spies to the US , where they are provided with safe haven and jobs in our defense, aerospace, and intelligence spheres. One of the ex-Nazis, Walter Dornberger, turns up shot to death in southern Illinois in 1980. Don Hayes, the detective who investigates the murder, uncovers the truth of who Dornberger really was. The investigation takes the reader on a journey to Nazi-occupied France , the German death camps, foreign coup d'etats, the JFK assassination, and revolution in central America. One of Hayes’ suspects turns out to be a concentration camp refugee, Hannah Kanermann, whose mother and brother were brutalized by Dornberger. When Hannah discovers that the CIA helped Dornberger escape prosecution for war crimes and arranged for his safe passage to the U.S. , she turns the tables on Dornberger, his Nazi cronies, and their CIA protectors. Hayes’ investigation also blows the lid off other CIA atrocities such as the drugging and brainwashing of innocent, unsuspecting citizens (MK-ULTRA); the subversion of the free press in America and its conversion into a propaganda wing of the military-industrial complex (Operation Mockingbird); and the overthrow of duly-elected governments around the world. Hayes eventually solves the murder of Dornberger, but becomes disillusioned with his country along the way. The book is a fast-paced conspiracy thriller for those who want to know more about the real history of post-WWII America . And, please note, though the book is listed as historical fiction, the events which make up the historical backdrop of t

Update--Chairperson, Miwok Tribe: 'Civil Rights Being Trampled on by the Bureau of Indian Affairs' "...The Bureau of Indian Affairs has allowed an outsider (non-Indian who's only interest is creating a phony group to lead people into believing that they are the real Tribe so that they can build a Casino, backed by Albert D. Seeno, Jr. owner of the Peppermill in Reno, and other casinos in Wendover, Nevada and he also owns 30 to 40 businesses in the Bay Area...." By Silvia Burley Chairperson, Miwok Tribe Please Pass This Information Forward To Those Who Want To Know The Truth! Why is it that we are STILL being IGNORED by the Bureau of Indian Affairs? We are a federally recognized Tribe that is being threatened to be evicted by the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department and we have done everything to make our District Congressman, and Senators aware of our URGENT situation. We've continued to request the assistance of the Department of the Interior/Bureau of Indian Affairs to help us resolve this URGENT issue, yet as of this writing, we have not received a call from any of our elected officials or any of the BIA agencies/offices Many college students from a vast number of Universities have pledged their support for us, they have stated that they would be willing to rally around our home in protest, to bring attention to our dire situation. Today, two AIM (American Indian Movement) members came by to check on us to see how we are holding up. We have received many calls from concerned citizens who are outraged at the way we are being treated by officials. We have always complained that this is how our situation became this bad... by officials continually choosing to ignore the problem. Local Tribes are upset and showing their concern The Bureau of Indian Affairs has the TRUST RESPONSIBILITY to protect us... and they are not doing their job.... they should be ashamed. What does the local BIA get paid for? If I got paid, an

We will be taking your calls and questions so don’t forget to dial us at Call-in Number: (347) 215-8333. Mike Lopez A true Americana/Roots/Folk sound from the West. California native, Mike Lopez, writes original timeless songs that reflect his surroundings. Mike was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Part native American, Chumash of the Kalawashaq Village, he embraces the multicultural aspects of his deep roots. His multifaceted background is clearly reflected in his songwriting. Mike has created a wonderful way of telling stories through his original songs. An original sound of true Americana with a dash of red hot chili! Mike has been singing and playing guitar since he was ten, and was strongly influenced by Country, Western Swing, Blues and Jazz. At the early age of thirteen Mike formed his first band and at fifteen he composed his first song, titled “Easy Chair”. When Mike was eighteen he moved to Portland Oregon where he spent fourteen years with the Western Swing band, The Beaver Trail Boys. During those years the band did a number of recordings. One song that was recorded, in response to the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens, “We Want Lava”. The song became a local hit and was played extensively on the Dr. Denmento radio show. In 1986 Mike returned to his home, to his roots, in Santa Barbara and formed the band The Goods. The band played a variety of Blues, Jazz, Rock and Country as well as some of Mike’s original tunes. In no time The Goods became a Santa Barbara favorite. Always creating new venues for himself, Mike in the mid-90’s began The Mesa Concert Series which featured his band sharing the stage with many well known artist including: Kim Wilson, Coco Montoya, Terry Robb, Junior Watson, Mitch Kashmar, Debbie Davies, and more. He has also shared the stage with such artist as Leon Russell, Dave Mason, TJ Parker, Clifton Chenier, Joe Cocker and others. Mike has played an incredible variety of styles throughout his career and those influen

Born in New York into a family that never did anything simply that couldn't be done dramatically. One older sister. Raised in Florida, St. Petersburg, which had a strong artist community. I was fortunate enough to have been able to meet Jack Kerouac, and Jim Morrison, they both used to go by this place called Beau Arts, in Pinellas Park, that a rich gay guy opened. It was a great place, a big old house with maybe 20+ rooms, reading, poetry, plays, folk singing, pot smoking. After graduating from HS in 65', I immediately enlisted into the pro-peace movement and got my ass to San Fransisco as soon as possible, where I was introduced to some of the best cartoonists of that time, Sheldon, Cobb, ...writers like Getty, Gordon, Ginsberg ... heady times, much of what can be talked about that went on back than sounds fanciful when talked about today. Meeting Ginsberg my second day in SF, at a friends apartment, in drag, with someone named Petunia, as they were getting ready to fly to Maui on stolen credit cards ... Sandy Love of the "Ace Trucking Company" and the "Committee", walking in with a half empty bottle of Jack Daniels (it was noon!), taking a swig, looking at me over her shoulder, and saying, "I feel like being "f" by a man today," me sitting there blinking like the dumb teenager I was ... you just can't make this stuff up. For the next few years, like many, I crisscrossed the country from festival to protest, in full counter-culture mode, and one day some 34 years ago, after an aborted smuggling run, found myself in New Orleans. Thought it was a place as close to living outside this country as one could get and became a merchant seamen. After nearly getting killed working the river (ask me about that story), I got into the music-bar business.. Sat in with a few of the best musicians, (I play percussion) heard them all, and served most everyone in this city a drink at one time or another, worked at both the now defunct Dream Palace on Frenchman Stree

JUNE 20, 2009 9am-7pm Location: Cherokee Removal Memorial Park 6800 Blythe Ferry Ln Birchwood, TN 37308 where the Tennessee and Hiwassee Rivers meet One of the most inhumane acts of mankind took place when an entire race of peoples were driven from their homelands in 1838 in a removal now referred to as the Trail of Tears. At Blythe Ferry approximately 9,000 Cherokees and 500 Creeks camped and crossed this site after suffering through the long, dry summer in stockades under deplorable conditions. Between August and November 1838, nine detachments crossed the river by ferry at Blythe Ferry. This park, now a federally certified Trail of Tears site, is dedicated to the memory of these peoples. The Cherokee Removal Memorial Park at Blythe Ferry has been 12 years in the making and has been made possible through grants and matching state funds. Those funds now exhausted, the Park now has NO MONIES for operating expenses. Please give generously so that it may continue to serve as a true memorial to those who suffered and perished during the forced removal of 1838. THIS EVENT IS A 100% FUNDRAISER FOR THE CHEROKEE REMOVAL MEMORIAL PARK ALL performers and drums have donated their time and talent. Please show your appreciation with generous donations to the Park. http://blytheferryfundraiserconcert.blogspot.com/
