    Herbology 101 by Zakiyyah Madyun

Zakiyyah has been an herbal practitioner and teacher for over 30 years.  Certified by Michael Tierra, OMD, L.Acc. in the mid-80s, she has studied under numerous herb doctors including Dr. John Moore (who called himself the Harlem Ghetto Dr), Dr. Martin Ravitsky who she first studied reflexology with, and then herbology.  Her studies took her to Montego Bay Jamaica where she studied at the Poinsietta Herb Gardens under Dr. Bob Vernon and to Great Barrington, Mass where she studied at the Center of the Light under Mary Kate Jordan.  More of her studies are chronicled on her website bio: www.sacredhealing7.com.

After studying numerous health and healing systems around the country, she has travelled around the nation and taught her own course: "The Yin & Yang of Herbology: A Course in Herbs / A Course in Life" - which incorporates Chinese Herbology, Ayurveda and Western Herbology.  She currently teachers at her own center: the Sacred Healing 7 Herb Center - which is located in the Village of Harlem at 70 West 125th Street on the 3rd floor.

Over the course of 30 years, Zakiyyah has taught thousands of people how to drastically reduce Drs visit and those excessive costly co-pays.  Empowering people to take back the responsiblity of their own healthcare with natural herbal remedies and alternative healing modalities, Zakiyyah encourages her students to become qualified through her courses to treat themselves and their families with safe and effective herbal remedies.  She currently holds workshops and 6-month herb courses at her Herb Center twice a month.  She can be contacted at 347-269-5766 and her curriculum outline and workshop dates and calendar of events can be viewed on her website: www.sacredhealing7.com.
