Award Winning Writer will discuss her career and writing style

New York, NY April 21, 2008-- Award winning Writer and Wedding Consultant Chamein Canton will appear on BlogTalkRadio’s show “Curvaceous Diva Radio” (http://blogtalkradio.com/Curvaceous-Diva) with host Resa aka Purplelady & Jenn on April 29 2008, 9p.m. Eastern. This exclusive interview will highlight Canton’s successful career and unique writing style.

Chamein Canton is the author of Down That Aisle In Style A Wedding Guide For Full Figured Women (WindRiver Publishing). Chamein Canton uses her unique mix of native New York sophistication, a touch of her mother’s Southern charm, and her considerable experience in the wedding industry to help real brides look and feel their best on their wedding day. Her most recent book Not His Type (Indigo Books 2007), received the award for Best African American Romance from Romantic Times. Not His Type is the fictional story of a full figured woman who falls in love with her dream man, who just happens to be a high profile athlete and her struggle to overcome her self consciousness long enough to believe an athlete who is expected to date thinner women, could really be interested in a full figured woman who for all intensive purposes is Not His Type.

Chamein, a plus size woman, struggled with self image until a diagnosis of uterine cancer followed by multiple sclerosis changed her focus and made her realize there was more to life than counting carbs and calories. As a cancer survivor she recognizes the importance of healthy and is working with the Love My Body organization's You are Campaign to help promote positive body image and healthy lifestyles within the minority and multiethnic community.

Chamein has many achievements to be proud of. She is the single mother of two talented sons (both are college-bound musicians who have had the opportunity to play at Carnegie hall), has overcome cancer, and lives successfully with Multiple Sclerosis. Her disabilities have not diminished her enthusiasm for running her own business and she often writes about her own experiences. She is the published author of numerous humorous short stories and is the author of Ms. Doesn’t Stand for Multiple Sclerosis. (ISBN 0-595149-05-7, Writer’s Club Press, a humorous look at coping with MS); and You’re Getting married? (ISBN 0-595152-09-0 , Writer’s Club Press, a humorous look at the difficulties faced by full-figured brides). She currently writes two regular on-line columns about bridal fashion and personal beauty for Elegant Plus Models and Venus Divas. Chamein has a B.A. in business from Empire State College and serves as an example for her sons by continuing her education. She is the managing partner of the Canton Smith (literary) Agency, that’s dedicated to first-time women authors.

Chamein’s many achievements earned her the 2002 MS Mother of the Year award from the Long Island chapter of the MS Society.
