    Original Air Date:

Catholic Radio 2.0!: Heather King Redeemed

"Redeemed: Stumbling Toward God, Sanity, and the Peace That Passes All Understanding" is the memoir of author and NPR commentator Heather King. Now out in paperback, the book chronicles King's journey into the Catholic Church and how her relationship with Christ has sustained her through cancer, divorce, the death of a parent, and working for God-less, Commie National Public Radio. OK, we guess we're just kidding about the NPR part. Anyway, Heather King is Commander Craig's guest this week. Please join them as they talk about ongoing conversion. First, though, Commander Craig reports on breaking news from the Vatican.

  • Original Air Date:

Catholic Radio 2.0!: March for Life!

Commander Craig previews the annual March for Life in Washington, DC. The January 22 march commemorates the fateful decision in Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion nationwide. This year, the march takes place in the shadow of a new pro-abortion administration which has pledged to sign the Freedom of Choice Act, which will remove all restrictions on abortion.

  • Original Air Date:

Catholic Radio 2.0!: Remembering Father Richard John Neuhaus

Father Richard John Neuhaus, whose struggle to keep God's truth in the public square ranged from civil rights struggles in the 1960s to providing much of the intellectual foundation to the battle against the abortion license, died of complications from cancer this week at the age of 72. Robert Royal, president of the Faith & Reason Institute, will assess the legacy of Fr. Neuhaus. Also, Alan Napleton, founder and president of the Catholic Marketing Network (CMN), will describe the effects of the economic downturn on producers, distributors, and retailers of Catholic goods and services.

NIGHT PRAYER 2.0 Debuts Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 11:30 p.m. ET on BlogTalkRadio

I'm happy to announce that I will be launching Night Prayer 2.0 here on BlogTalkRadio, beginning Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 11:30 PM ET and running every Sunday through Friday at that same time.  The web address will be the same as the one for Catholic Radio 2.0: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/CommanderCraig.

Night Prayer, or Compline, will be taken from the Church's "official prayer", the Liturgy of the Hours. Various editions are published by Catholic Book Publishing and the Daughters of St. Paul.  The prayer allows us to examine our consciences, praise God, and ask Him to watch over us as we sleep.  It concludes with a Marian antiphon that invokes the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

What will make Night Prayer 2.0 different from other versions of Compline on Vatican Radio or other podcasts is that YOU will have the opportunity to call and be part of the group of up to five people who will lead the prayer.  Or else you can simply join us online for the live stream and pray with us.  In this small way, I wish to build an online community, a community of prayer and at prayer.

This prayer will also be a means of supporting
Catholic Radio 2.0, which will continue to stream live each Saturday morning at 11 AM ET.

If you are interested in being a part of the Night Prayer 2.0 team, please send me an e-mail at
briancraig1@commandercraigscorner.com.  Over the next week I will develop a rotation of people who will call in on various days.

I look forward to hearing from you and praying with you!
