Trust is the bottom line to transformation. that is one of the reasons why its easier to start a new church than to transform an existing one. it is also why long term pastorates make the most difference bill Easum

Tom, in your resources I am assuming there are scripture suggestions for teaching and preaching to use during the Values/Beliefs/Visoning process. I am thinking if we don't use them--then we'll end up with either the obscure or the status quo

Church Talk

The church in North American appears to be in a bit of trouble. Let's face it, it doesn't have the greatest reputation; it's been losing as many as a million members a year; and it doesn't look like much is going change any time soon. Indeed, there are those who have predicted that the demise of the church is at hand. Not so. Drs. Bill Tenny-Brittian and Kris Tenny-Brittian have been working with churches for years, helping them become faithful disciple-making congregations. Their consultations and training events bring hope to beleaguered church leaders and renewed energy to congregations as they make a commitment to transforming lives. And now Bill and Kris are taking to the airwaves … well, the cyber ones anyway … with Church Talk, a live call-in internet radio talk show. Each show features a conversation about topics that make a difference to the church: leadership, disciple-making, evangelism, what's working, what's not, and much much more. Join them for Church Talk and help change your church, your community, and your world.

Kris and Bill are here this week to commiserate but, more than that, to counsel and cheer you on! Whatever your congregation's size, invite your leaders to listen in on this important conversation. Whew-HOOOO!

    Easter Planning

Here it comes again. Christian Alumni Sunday, AKA Easter Sunday. This is that one time when all those folks with church history in their blood make their way back to church. Some come for tradition's sake. Some come to salve their conscience. Some come because it's expected. And a few come hoping for a miracle - they're actually looking for a touch from the living God. What are you doing for Easter at your church? This week, Drs. Bill and Kris Tenny-Brittian explore the ins and outs of this critically important worship service. Will you be ready?

  • Original Air Date:

    Technology in Church

Why is it that church and technology seem to be mutually exclusive terms? The folks in the pews have HD TVs, DVD players, computers, cell phones, and PDAs. But getting the church into the 20th century, let alone the 21st, is like pulling teeth. This week Drs. Bill and Kris Tenny-Brittian take on the technology monster. What does a church really need and how can you use technology effectively in order to reach and touch and inspire those in the pews and in the community?

Only Two Things Grow a Church

There are literally hundreds of programs and related books that will tell you how to grow your church. How do you get a handle on what works and what doesn't? There's a little known secret you should be aware of: there are only two programs that will grow a church in these troubled times. Only two. (Though there are a thousand things that will keep your church from growing.) This week, Drs. Bill and Kris will let you in on the secret and talk about what it takes to implement these two growth realities.

    The Home as Sanctuary

Home may be where the heart is, but many homes are where the stress is. Home should be a sanctuary ... a place of safety and ready to offer spiritual rest and restoration. But homes are also "safe" places to let our hair down and to take our masks off. How can you reconcile the two and make your home a place of spiritual respite? Drs. Bill and Kris share their experiences, their research, and their tips for making your home a sanctuary in this wild and crazy world.

  • Original Air Date:

    Hospitality: Your Builiding and Grounds

Every church thinks they're ready for visitors and guests ... but few are. The fact is, America, church hospitality is at best weak and at worst unintentionally hostile to those who are unconnected the Jesus and the church. This week Drs. Bill and Kris will offer suggestions to help church leaders get ready for visitors.
