HUNGRY GHOSTS

An Angel Reminder:  How do you feed a ghost?

Buddhist recognize six lower realms of experience, one of which is the realm of the hungry ghosts.  This is a metaphor for our state of mind when we are hungering, starving for the bliss that cannot be found in the material world.  In the realm of the hungry ghosts we think our hunger will be appeased if we just consume this or that.  But just as ghosts can never find satisfaction in the physical dimension, so our soul can never be satisfied with material food.  In fact, it can't even digest it.  Many people are like hungry ghosts, wandering the Earth in a doomed search for inner peace.  They hunger for power, fame, money, or sex instead of true enlightenment, and consequently they never feel full.  As Sogyal Rinpoche observes in The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, "The Hungry Ghosts Realm exists wheerever people, though immmendsely rich, are never satisfied, craving to take over this company or that one, or endlessly playing out their greed in court cases.  Switch on any television channel and you have entered immediately the realm...of the hungry ghosts."  The angels know that the only way to feed a ghost--to feed a spirit--is with the things of the pirit.  When we begin to hunger for God, we have a chance of finally feeling full-filled.

Do you know any hungry ghosts?  What are they hungry for?  Do you ever feel helpless in the face of their hunger, as though you can never satisfy them?  Have you ever paid a visit to the Hungry Ghost Realm yourself, or are you possibly in it now?  If so, remember that the more things you do to satisfuy your spiritual cravings, the less hungry you will be.

Forgiveness

Card Meaning: Let go of anger and resentment, and feel yourself healed. You don't need to forgive the action, just the person-so that you can be at peace.

By drawing this card, your angels guide you to release anger and irritation. They realize that you may be perfectly justified in feeling angry. Yet, they ask you to look at the high price you pay for being the vessel of anger.

Forgiveness does not mean, "What you did is okay to me." It simply means, "I am no longer willing to carry around pain in response to your actions." When we hold unforgiveness in our hearts, we only punish ourselves, after all. Your angels will help you release unforgiveness if you will just ask for their assistance.

Truth & Integrity

Card Meaning: You are guided to be very honest with yourself, and to be true to yourself in all of your activities and actions.

The angels say to you, "Let go of anything inauthentic, and all activities that do not mirror your highest intentions for yourself." If something in your life isn't working, be willing to release it to God and the angels.

When we open our hands and release unhealthful situations, the Divine light can enter. Miracles always follow when we surrender troubling conditions. You'll find that the job, relationship, health issue, or other circumstance heals rapidly in ways that you could never have imagined. All along the way, the angels will perfectly guide you to actions that will either help you replace the situation with something better, or heal it entirely. Expect a miracle when you decide to "be true to you."

Manifestation

Card Meaning: You have manifested new opportunities and abundance. Know that you can experience these gifts right now!

Your hoped-for aspirations are on their way to you. They may arrive in a different fashion than you expected, but the rewards that you truly desire-such as feelings of peace, security, and happiness-are manifested exactly as you requested. Ask your angels to help you have faith in your ability to manifest. With this faith, you and God can do anything!

This is the process by which all thoughts transform into tangible form: First, they begin as an idea, born of Divine sources. Then the idea meets with a feeling. If the feeling is loving and nurturing, the idea and the feeling create the embryo of the manifestation. You nourish your newborn idea by believing in it and by following the step-by-step guidance that God and the angels give to you through your feelings, dreams, and visions.
