Haitian American Agro-Industries' president and ceo, Georges Valme is a specialist in the area of Agro Industry and renewable energy. Georges has studied Mechanical Technology, Industrial Refrigeration, Solar Energy Application and Renewable Energy. In 1996 he started to plant Jatropha trees in Haiti. Today he has three successful Jatropha nurseries. Georges also is planting other trees like coconuts, avocado, moringa, etc, with the idea of using oil from the seeds as the component of a cooking system that would replace charcoal as the energy source. Today, Nadine will call in from a tree planting ceremony in the Little Haiti section of Miami, Florida. Several areas of Miami are being 'reclaimed' as green areas, i.e. neighborhood parks.As part of Operation Green Leaves outreach effort, Nadine participates in these events when they are in neighborhoods with a significant Haitian population in order to talk to children about the importance of maintaining tree cover.Check out www.oglhaiti.com for more information.
