Horse faciliated Mental Health and Therapy Services

do you know what hippotherapy is?  I didn't, until I interviewed Sarah Smith, who is getting a masters degree in social work with an emphasis on using horses in therapy.  As a guest on the Ask Auntie Artichoke radio show today, she was able to share much about this emerging and successful field of mental health.

They have found that adolescent especially tend to have more successful therapeutic interventions outside of an office setting and in an outdoor atmosphere that includes animals, nature and real life consequences. Many adults who are seeking alternative treatment for such issues as depression, anxiety, marriage or career struggles, grief and loss and other life transitions, find great relief and success with this method.

Please join us next week on http://www/blogtalkradio.com/auntieartichoke when we new ways to build confidence and live a rich life.

Until then, Judy H. Wright aka Auntie Artichoke, family relationship coach and author
