    Almost Radio, with Ty Unglebower

Tonight, Week In Review. Plus some discussion of my Easter Holiday, (or lack thereof). If there is time, I will be doing "Ty after Time", when I relate a story from my past, at random, that I think may be funny, or in the least thought provoking. I'll decide which one when I go to air. More fun that way.

    Numerical Error

Upon listening to my special commentary that I delivered at the end of tonights show, i realized that in the heat of the moment, my tongue slipped, and I mentioned that American Military fatalities in Iraq currently stand at "4,990". The correct estimation is actually 3,990 deaths thus far. God willing it will not reach my mistaken number.

Week in Review, as always. Plus, it's Quotation Stir Fry night! Tune in and see what random quotation show up this week, and what response to them I give. Or call in with your own thoughts on said quotation. There will also be some special commentary about Iraq, on this, the 5 year anniversary of the U.S, invasion of that country. And any other of the wall adventures I have time for! Tune in and be part of it.

    Cut off!!!

Blogtalkradio totally cut me off before I got to sign off! It said I had a minute left, during my latest show, on March 12, but totally shut me down! Guess that will teach me to trust their own timer! So, if you download it, or were listening to that show, and it cut off in mid-sentence, it wasn't my fault.

I'll make sure I sign off with two minutes left from now on...better to have a minute of dead air, than get cut off like a goon on my own show.

In tonight's episode, I'll be talking about employment/networking, (and why I am not the best at it). I will also be discussing some old sitcoms I have recently rediscovered. I will also be introducing the first installment of, "Upon Further Study". (See my recent blog post for details.)

  • Date / Time:

    Late starting Time!!!

It seems that every single possible slot for 11PM this coming Wednesday has been filled up on blogtalkradio! I didn't know that could happen. So This weeks episode will be starting at 11:30, for those of you doing the live thing.

    Segments and Bits

I thought this would be as good a time/place as any to give a more in depth view, (one or two sentences) of some of the recurring segments I plan to have on "Almost Radio, with Ty Unglebower"

To begin with, one of the most popular from my old show at the other website, was called "Quotation Stir Fry". I have already done this segment once here at blogtalkradio.com

Basically, I have a really thick paperback book with thousands of quotations in it. During "Stir Fry", I flip through the pages at random, and let my finger fall at random, on a quotation. I will then read said quotation, respond and comment on it, hopefully, you, the loyal listeners will be entertained, or provoked into thought, and then I will do it again.

I usually get 3 or 4 quotations in one segment.

"Junk Mail Theater" debuted two weeks ago. In it, I open my emails junk/spam box, and take select samples, of particular entertainment value, and read them aloud over the air, hopefully with humerous results. I do not read the porn spam in this segment.

"Upon Further Study" is a segment I plan to introduce in this weeks show. I will provide a true to life fact, or factoid, and report it to the audience. At that point I will tell you what my "brilliant staffers" have discovered about that fact, upon further study, hence the name of the segment. The further info my staff finds will be the punchline of this bit.

"Ty after Time" will be pretty much random stories I will tell from my past. Usually extended stories, as opposed to anecdotes. Could be anything from a childhood memory, to something more recent. This will be one of the more spontaneous segments.

Other nameless segments will come and go, of course. These that I have mentioned here, the named segments, will, once I get my crap together, make regular appearances...probably during certain weeks throughout any given month. (Every third week will have thus and so segment, etc.)

Of course, unnamed or unplanned segments and routines will come and go, as they occur to me. This is not an exhaustive list. But it provides a key for those of you who check out the description of an upcoming show.

    Hope you all tune in.
