Questions to consider when evaluating Mormonism:

1.) Did the Church need to be "restored"? If Jesus promised the gates of hell will not prevail against His church, how could it apostacize? (Matthew 16:18)  If Jesus always exists with the church, how can it apostacize (Matthew 28:20)? Only "some" would depart, not all, so the apostacy was not complete, so a restoration is not needed. (1 Timothy 4:1)

2.) Was Joseph Smith, Jr. a true prophet of God?

  • Smith's came out with his own Scripture "revelations" that "add" to God's Word and do not agree with the Bible. (Deuteronomy 12:32; Matthew 24:35; Acts 17:11; Hebrews 1:1-2; 2 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 8:20; 40:8).

3)  Does the Mormon views of God and Man agree with the Bible?

  • The Bible Teaches there are 3 Persons (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) are 1 God (James 2:19; Romans 1:7; John 20:28; Acts 5:3-4). God is only 1 God (Deut 6:4). God knows no other God (Isaiah 43:10; 44:8 Rom 1:22-23). God is eternally God (Psalm 90:2) but Mormons make men into Gods and claim God and Jesus earned their godhood.

4)  Does the Mormon view of Salvation agree with the Bible?

  • Mormons teach men can earn their salvation and that grace is given only after you've abandoned all sin (Moroni 10:32), but the Bible teaches that salvation is a free gift, through grace and faith, apart from works because Jesus' act of atonement was complete (Romans 3:19-23; 4:3-8; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21; Ephesians 2:8-9).

5)  Why do Mormons build temples and Does Mormonism teach polygamy?  Bible teaches temples are not necessary (1 Corinthians 3:16; 2 Corinthians 6:16) and polygamy is wrong (Deuteronomy 17:17; 1 Timothy 3:2).
